The gaps disapere and everything basicall goes on one line

What does everyone else use to edit the file . I have been unable to edit any files because the when I upload the file it corrupts my board.

My usual perl editor is Perl Builder. I also use Edit Plus. Neither are freeware.

Thanks for the help everyone smile

I use Ultraedit which is not free, though noted is super small and easy to use(thanks cal). Also PFE is a really darn good free editor though it is no longer maintained.

Ultraedit recently released version 13:

The features they've added over the years is pretty sweet - perfect for writing code smile

Bah! All are inferior. Use either Komodo IDE or Komodo Edit wink

Psh, thats not serverside :x
Posted By: Rick Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/10/2007 8:58 PM
I'm not talking just serverside...I'm talking clientside as well wink If I'm on a windows box then I just use Cygwin, with Putty running cygterm and then use Vi there as well wink

I think there's much more flexibility in ultraedit myself - including spellcheck, line numbering, 'find and replace in files', etc etc etc - it found the one MILLyun html errors in .classic 6.2 and threads 6.4 wink

I use Zend Studio on my Mac to write/edit PHP scripts. On the server side I use usual the editor of Midnight Commander and sometimes Nano.

No no no. A simple macro linked to ispell...built in spellcheck. Want to hop to line 34, :34. Find and replace, command line "perl -pi -e".

I've tried just about every editor, ultraedit, zend studio, etc. I always find myself coming back to all command line tools because I'm always feeling limited in one way or another wink

:paws at nano: it's pure love...
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/19/2007 11:18 PM
I use gedit. It highlights syntax and takes what I type and puts it into a file. Tis' all I really need. (also if I'm stuck in a terminal, nano does the job quite nicely)
Posted By: Gizmo Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/20/2007 12:46 AM
Nano wins :x
Posted By: Burak Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/23/2007 2:02 PM
You really should try Komodo wink It is also cross-platform (Win/Lin/Mac) and if you buy an IDE license (Edit is freeware), it applies to all three platforms smile

I'm liking nano more than vi too. Still love UltraEdit. Running on Parallels on my Mac too, as I have yet to find a mac text editor worth a darn.
Posted By: Gizmo Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/28/2007 12:23 AM
Well, since MacOSX runs on *nix, you should be able to slap nano on it...
Posted By: navaho Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/28/2007 1:33 AM
it already is. default.
Posted By: navaho Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/28/2007 1:33 AM

Posted By: Gizmo Re: What do you use to edit the files - 04/28/2007 2:14 AM
