All the mods already know this, but Just so everyone knows, I will be leaving for an 11 Day Italy tour on Wednesday, March 26. I'll be back Sunday, April 6th.

I won't have online access during this time, and won't be able to answer questions/return emails until I return. Ack - withdrawls.

When I return, I will be a full-time web consultant, so, as this will no longer be a part-time venture for me, I'll have even more time to help you here, potentially create some cool stuff, and a faster response time for help and service both here and for my clients.

Hey All,

Having a great time in Italy!

The Trip started in Rome.... did it all. Saw the Collesum, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, the Catacombs... the spanish Steps etc.... you name it,I've been there!

Then from there on to Florence. Had a wonderful time there... shopping and sightseeing. We did Pisa (tacky) and even made a stop at a little farm for wine tasting/lunch in the hills of Tuscany.

Then on to Venice. We did the Canal tour, the Gondola Serenade... You name it we did it. The Mirano Glass Blowing tour. Then on to the little Fishing island of Burano for an authentic lunch.

This tour has been so well organized, I am 100% convinced that one couldn'nt do this much on their own. Every minute is coordinated... step off the bus and the tour director has phoned ahead...whatever we are going to do is ready and waiting for us. Tour around, walk a bit, and the bus is waiting at the other end of wherever we've been walking. It's been wonderful. Really. And the hotels have been first class as well.

Tomorrow on to Assesi.

I see there are lots of posts here and I don't have much time... so I won't read any of them. ha ha But I'm sure there will be lots to catch up on when I return.

See ya later,
Josh

I'm drooling! Sounds wonderful - I need to win the lottery and travel for a living. Hope you're having a wonderful time.

Thanks. Got back yesterday.

the Trip was amazing. When I get a chance, I'll recap the whole thing and post a link to some pictures.

I wanted to stay there forever.

Italy is in my top 10 list of places to visit when I'm rich. Also included (but in no real order) are Egypt (I really want to see the pyramids), Greece, and Africa (yeah, it's a continent, and Egypt is there, but I mean more like South Africa, just not sure where - safari type stuff. ) Oh, almost forgot New Zealand.

And glad to have you back Josh!

Lisa...

When you get ready to do it... I would highly a company called trafalgar.

Really... having everything so well coordinated allowed me to see much more in the time that I had available. I will definately take another tour in years to come. Greece and Spain are high on my list.

It was affordable too. I think the whole 11 day tour was less than $100/day... which included Hotels, all transportation, breakfasts, baggage handling and most of the dinners. Optional tours (which Id' recommend) averaged $45/day.

When all was said and done, I probably spent around $200 out of pocket on Lunches and the one or two dinners we had to buy... and souvinirs.

I didn't have to pay air fare... as I had flier miles.... but depending on when you go there are air deals to be had.
Also timing is good. We went the last week of their "off season" right before the prices went up... although our guide said that they had NO bookings for their high season of May, June & July... so there may even be some deals in their high season. Tourism over there is really hurting. But it made everyone SO THANKFUL to have us, that I felt they worked 120% to make us happy.

I was very nervous about going... and actually kind of didn't want to as it approached... but I'm glad I went now. And would go back in a heartbeat.

It took me long enough - but I finally did it. If anyone would like to see my pics, I've finally posted them here.
