That good reason is a security fix in ubb_profile.cgi and public_edit_profile.pl. The new important areas are all marked with comments containing the string "6.6.2" for easy location and splicing using your file comparison tool of choice.
Please be sure to upgrade as soon as possible.

Wow, Stilgar must be great at keeping on top of updates for everything...  Unlike me, that is.  Is this problem in all of the 6.6 series? If it is, I'll advise another board I go to to upgrade.

not to my knowledge, but some companies like patching things before it's widely exploited (ie not Microsoft)
