Wow.. read the story on Netwerkin, but never saw this page. They've raised $1410 already... that's awesome.

I know what she did was wrong (along with many millions of other people) but to target a 12 year old when the artist she supposedly harmed will never ever see a penny of that money just rubs me the wrong way.

The music industry has always been unethical and even found guilty of operating illegally a few times (price fixing for example.) The song swapping IMO finally evened things a little bit and they got a taste of what they been dishing out, not only to artists but also to consumers.

I think the MTV music awards really put things in perspective to a lot of people. To see Britney and Madonna literally w.hore themselves out for the music industry was a good illustration of whats really been going on for a long time.

I hope the RIAA suits just convince more people to stop buying CDs. The entire industry needs to just accept that their business module never really worked and is need of major revamping.

Agreed, at least some are getting the clue, such as the "legal" mp3's from some companys... although it still deminishes the points lol...

It seems that the lawsuits are turning a lot of people against the RIAA rather than "teaching us lessons".

The Beatles are now suing Apple, hehe tipsy

"The inevitable has happened: The Beatles have sued Steve Jobs over Apple iTunes and the Apple iPod -- at least the band's company, Apple Corps., has sued Apple Computers. [...]

When Apple Computers first came into existence, the Beatles' lawyers sued -- and won -- over the use of the corporate name. The Fab Four, it was widely known, already had their own company called Apple Corps. (Ironically, Jobs admitted to naming his company as a tribute to the Beatles.) The result of the suit was a huge cash settlement and a promise that the Apple logo and name would only be used for computers -- and never for a music company."

Apple doesn't stand a chance of winning this. I read the details of the previous cases and they are gonna lose.
