Anyone use it here? Well I'm getting it installed next week, and I was wondering if BT Anytime ISP supports 64 and 128k access.

If there is another ISP worth paying out for, please tell me.

Oh, one more thing - I've read I need an internal or external IDSN modem to get this work (I read it on the site) Does this come with the installation, or do I have to run out and buy one this weekend?

If I do, please suggest the best modem.

Thanx in advance

mine came with the installation.
I only bother dialling up with one line to btanytime.

If I were you I'd cancel it and wait for adsl.

ISDN is quite expensive...if you can get ADSL...get it, RADSL is coming out soon so if you are within distance of that, good. (RADSL extends the limit from you to the exchange).

However, if you cant get those...
BT have said that they wont be upgrading anymore exchanges unless there is enough user demand in that area. smirk

Thanks for the replys,

I checked on the Openworld website - My local exchange has been enabled (Bournemouth) but I'm out of distance.

If the exchange is actually in Bournemouth (which I'm not sure) I'm about 6 miles from, so I doubt I'll be able to get it either way.

Sally - why only use one of the digital lines - does it have a charge on using two lines?

Another thing: I know btanytime sucks normally, with disconnections and stuff, but do you not get disconnected with the digital lines?

Thx in advance

yeah, it charges for both lines. I think I tried dialing up with both lines once on a speacial bt isp for it or something, jeeez it sucked beyond all belief. It was about ten times quicker to dial up with one line to my normal isp!

And yes, btanytime still sucks if you're on a digital line tipsy

I thought plusnet was very good, however on their 24/7 package they seem to think that 2hrs 20mins a day is pushing it tipsy

as for how much it costs, I've just been looking around the bt site for ages and I can't seem to find anything, it's there somewhere though, you'll just have to look [Linked Image]

Heh, I'm with plusnet right now (adsl, 2mbps).
They are nice folk.. I'd suggest talking to the guys about the dialup stuff because although they do seem to be tough on 'abusing' the service, they can be quite lax.
