UBB.Developers Forums Community Development Design, Style and Graphics UBB Banner Request/Help

Okay, I've been messing around with a new UBB banner design since my site color change and quite frankly I'm at my wits end. I won't hide the fact that I'm artistically challenged, so I'm turning to the great artists here. You can get an idea for the overall color scheme of my UBB by going to http://darksaber.hispeed.com

I'd like the banner to be around 480 wide by 75 to 100 pixels tall. I am flexible on the width and height if it really looks good.
The reason for these dimensions is to accomodate users at the lowest screen resolutions and to not have a graphic at the top that takes up an entire screen by itself.

The overall theme of the site is of course Star Wars. In this case, it is an ice (blue) Hoth setting. I've taken some screen
shots related to the first part of The Empire Strikes Back as possible graphics fodder to be used in the banner. You can check those images out at http://darksaber.hispeed.com/banner Be aware that the page may take a little while to load since there are around 17 pics there.

My site will be moving in a few months to a new domain which will be KSSWC.COM so I would like that
URL reference in the banner. I'd also like the text "Kansas Star Wars Club" in the banner too.

Well, it's not much, and I did it kind of quickly, but here ya go...

well here is my attempt I had to make the height 125 so that the background would look good hope you like

now that I compare them I think Matts font looks better if you think it would look better with his I can send him the PSD and have him add it if it is ok with him

Just wanted to thank Matt and Wildcat for their great graphics. I decided to go with Wildcat's version. You can see the results at http://darksaber.hispeed.com I think the result is nice

Any hints on how to get the blue color to better match the table cell color? Its obviously in the jpg format. I compressed the file further so it would load on the pages quicker (54K down to 15K) and thus lose some color info. It blends pretty well and isn't too noticable.

And I do like Wildcat's blending job.

SW: looks like you're using #006699 as your color. Maybe wildcat could remake the image using only "websafe" colors.
