Hiya.

Just wanted to run the new board past everyone, I'd like you to give it a try.

It's basically in beta (fooling with hacks, as well as colors, etc). I'm putting the finishing touches on a hacked 5.45B which should be replacing the current version on my system within the next few days... It's a little cleaner.

Also looking for a couple of mods for the remainder of the areas that don't have any. Contact me if interested. I'll need some experience. Thanks!

The board color looks cool How do you install the Avatar hack in 5.44b? I help my friend install Mutt's Avatar hack in UBB 5.44b, but I get stuck in forumdisplay.cgi. The codes that were in 5.42 are not in 5.44b. I asked Mutt, but he's too busy to answer my question. I really appreciate if you can give me some input. Thank you in advance!

Dr Dollarz: I've mostly been lurking for a bit here, but I have alot of friends on the web/irc/icq, etc. Site has been up for 6-7 days now, and got our first 1000 hits. I'm so proud! (tear)

saudoi: ...as for the avatar hack, I really can't remember what I did to get it to work in 5.44b, it's been a few weeks since I was testing it.. I've gone through about 25 hacks in the last 24 hours for 5.45b also (including the avatar hack), and have noticed about 90% of them work by looking around for the routines in the other files.. For example, some things that used to be in cpanel2 are now in cpanel4, some things that were in Ultimate.cgi are now in register_lib.pl, etc. So take a look in the other files if you don't find the code you're looking for (this also goes for your version 5.44b).. Mutt's avatar hack works beautifully in 5.45b using this method.. (My 5.45b is not yet public, but it will be later this week.. Privately testing it...) So I'm sure if I got it to work (with no real perl knowledge to speak of) you can to.. If I find out the specific thing I did, I'll answer in this thread... Talk soon!

Here, perhaps this may help you along... It was posted by another user previously, pertaining to 5.44a! I don't have any changes for forumdisplay.cgi however.. Perhaps do NOTHING in there, and see how it goes? (of course backing up your original files at ALL times in case something goes wrong). I loosely recall one of these hacks that I installed again recently didn't require anything done with forumdisplay.cgi afterall (with new versions).

Yep, I checked my 5.44b files, as well as my 5.45b test files, and NO changes were made in forumdisplay.cgi -- so it's safe to say you don't NEED that.

Alien, how do you make those frames in the announcements hack? In other words, I have the news thing too (the one in the announcements hack) and I'm trying to figure out how you got both of them on the same line, I've been struggling with this all day yesterday, please help

Ilya: Why thank you very much.

Dr Dollarz: In order to do it, I took the easy way.. Create a table in a wysiwyg editor, with 2 columns, then insert whatever code you want into whatever column/cell ya want.. Then save, and view the source, and copy/paste the table information right into announcements area.. Done.

wysiwyg = What You See Is What You Get

It's a term for an editor that has a graphical interface like Netscape Composer, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage, etc.

You can get several for free if that's the way you want to go... Do a search on download.com or winfiles.com for them if you don't already have one. Latuh!

I'm running a graphic contest now for a $100 giftcertificate.com reward, I hope that helps finalize the 'look' of the site at least. I got enough work to do on the rest of the site. lol

Whoops, good catch. I'm living in the past, lol.

I'll adjust that now to April (ends at midnight, technically tuesday, but...)

As for the login, I see what you mean, I'm going to look into fixing that somehow tonight before I catch a dvd. I'm not exactly sure what's causing that yet.. I am soooooooooo in need a rest right now, hehe.
