i am wondering about mod_perl, are hacks compatible with mod_perl, f.e. who's online and so on?

That is to be a requirement of all finished modifications... it would be ridiculous to be able to use mod_perl on the base code and have it break due to a modification...

good to know!

btw: mod_perl + mod_gzip is the perfect combination for a lightspeed ubb!!! if u have access to your server, install mod_gzip for apache, f.e. a ubb site with 100 kb, is loaded with 10 kb! great! nowadays every browser can handle this, http 1.1 must be handled by the browser, ie 5.0, ns 6, opera 5.
