Good evening. I'm the sysop of a small, but long running, UBB. One of the core features of my board had been the integration of text files (generated by other programs) inserted hourly into the forum description fields. Now with the new UBB6 structure, my script is rendered invalid.

Does anyone have a generic script that can open the forums file, replace the fourm announcements variable with a text file from disk, and write that back out?

Thank you in advance.

Did your previous script work by modifying the forums.cgi file?

The file has been renamed vars_forums.cgi, and is in a similar format. To the best of my knowledge, the forum intro text is stored within it as well. It should be trivial to modify your script, with luck....
