OK...Space in user name now solved thanks to a user on my site!!!

All you need to do is add the following code in into the UBB_library2.cgi

At the total end of the cgi, you have that section that makes up the drop down list for the custom avatars, right before the $CUSTOM you need to add...

$customavataritem =~ s/s/%20/g;

So, make this...

Code
code:

Like this...

Code
code:

All this does is when the UTL for the image is written to the members file, if the user had a space in their user name, the space will be replaced with %20 . This will allow Netscape to be able to read the image correctly when called.

Hope this helps someone.

Remind that the mod will cause trouble for non-English version, esp. Japanese, Chinese and so on, because the member's name of such versions can has special characters and, when used for custom Avatar file name, may lead to illegal filename error on some operating systems. I prefer a good linking method between user name and number. i.e, user can use their user name but UBB uses number filename accordingly.

You add a file called Avatars in your NONcgi direcorty so the path would be...

c:/inetpub/wwwroot/NonCGI/avatars

And make a "custom" directory inside your Avatars directory for custom Avatars.
