Well, I decided to update this hack so it would combine them both into one line.

The output looks like: Good (time of day), (username) , you last visited on (Date) at (Time)

Anyway, here's the code. This is the first thing I've ever done so uhh...dont beat me with sticks or anything [Linked Image]

it works great except that it is splitting the Good evening on a second line. See at forums.wildwings.net .

tell me what I did wrong if possible.

Hmmm...did you modify anything in there? It should'nt be centering anything...maybe it's the older version?

Check out my UBB at http://www.sonicice.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi to see what it should turn out as..

Also, did you have either of the hacks installed before?

Nice addition [Linked Image]
My original hack just put the "Last visited" part right under the greeting.

Finally got it to work. Had to play around with your java script section to get it to place in the correct spot.

I guess on my older version it just didn't want to play our correct.

Thanks for the great hack.

icefusion - i visited your ubb last night to see it in action and i got an ie error message (in the browser status bar) that said your time wasn't defined. then i came back this morning & was told that i last visited at "Good morning
You last visited: blank , 20-100"

that happens on this ubb as well... so has anyone gotten this to work perfectly in 5.44a or b...? it looks a right mess the way it is now. i've gotten it working perfectly in 5.38a but trying to get it to work in 5.44 seems really problematic.

That is because the Java Script cant define what time of day 12:00 midnight is!

yes i just saw that mentioned in another thread, how frustrating...! but it seems to have absolutely no problems with the midnight hour in version 5.38a, just 5.44x my 5.38 works perfectly going from 11:59 into the next day... hope it's something that can be fixed...! :-)

You know what would be nice, is if these greetings worked when the url had bypasscookie=true or whatever that junk is when you click the logo image/main forum listing link in the tree, instead of it only displaying the name/date when you go directly to Ultimate.cgi...

Also, I'm not sure about this, but if you add this in the JavaScript section:

Code
code:

Above the first one of that type, it may recognize midnight. I'm not completely sure about this, so if it messes up your board or anything, just remove that line. I haven't been able to test this though because I can't change the time on my server. If anyone does want to test it, post your results here [Linked Image] -ice
