Can you guys create a Self Search Feature modification ?

Self Search would be:

When you click on Self Search (like Active Topics)

It would show every unique Reply to your posts and replies

That would be awesome

My initial goal was to make my Forum look and feel like the old libertyforum.org (which was shut down)

You can see it here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040226054151/http://libertyforum.org/

It might load slow, but it works. Just wait until it loads

Way Back Machine: http://www.archive.org/index.php

You search there for a website that no longer exists and it has an archived copy of the website

I don't know how they do it. Some of the links even work. You click on a link, and it goes to the cached archive page

When you search for: www.libertyforum.org

It gives you a page to click on a date of the archive

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.libertyforum.org

This date that I just clicked, is showing the Self Search feature !!!

http://web.archive.org/web/20040226054151/http://libertyforum.org/

On the left column there

Members
Login
Your Profile
Self-Search

That is strange. Because as I remember, one would only see the Self Search feature after one would login

I clicked on the Self Search link there and it shows this page:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040202111854/www.libertyforum.org/selfsearch.php?Cat=

I clicked one reply there from the self search:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040308...t=25&Old=allposts&Main=274079#Post274244

It seems like it is showing the Self Search results (cached) from the Administrator!

wow

Before, when I would check out the archived pages of that site, it would never show the Self Search link

weird

Anyway, check out the Forum List (Main Index) from that old Forum

http://web.archive.org/web/20040401115203/www.libertyforum.org/wwwthreads.php?Cat=

That is what I would want my Forum to look like

http://www.demongov.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

http://www.demongov.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/forum_summary

As close to that as possible

On top there on the Main Index (Forum List)

Main Index | Search | New user | Login | Who's Online | FAQ

The Self Search feature would show up in there, after one would login

Weird that the links I just posted is showing the Self Search link on the Portal Page, and the link works! (archived cached copy, of the link)

weird

awesome though

That Forum was awesome

It was very popular

People loved it

I did pay for a Custom Skin, to use them old colors

I tried modifying the custom skin to change the text (fonts) to that old Forum

But I could not do it. I could not figure it out

I have the old CSS file of that old Forum

But it is many years old

I can't figure out how to modify the new CSS files that this Forum software uses, with the info from that old css file

The text fonts used is what I was trying to copy

But that is another Subject for the CSS Section of this Forum

That old Forum was awesome

Even the Fonts it used was perfect

You can see it yourself with the links I provided here

It used a highly modified version of the wwwthreads forum software (modified with a self search feature)

wwwthreads was later bought out by ubb.threads, and discontinued

All other old versions of that wwwthreads forum software did not have the self search feature

I can post the old css file from the forum here in the css section another day

That old Forum also had a Flags feature

When you would hit Reply, it had a Flags option

One could Flag (notify) other users of a post or reply

The Flag (notification) would show up in the users Self Search

I do not remember the limit of how many users one could Flag (notify)

But one could Flag up to the limit, and than hit Reply again just to Flag more users

Too many Flags can overload the database

So to do that today, one would have to put a limit on the Flags per each post

Maybe like 3 or 5

Ok, I just posted the old CSS file that that old Forum used here:

https://www.ubbdev.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/318361.html

I am hoping that someone will like the style of this old libertyforum website, enough, to maybe try to convert the Fonts used for the new skins used here

I tried but could not figure it out

I'm just talking about the Fonts

The skin I'm using right now, with the same colors of that old Forum, I can post that also

Well if you guys can create a self search feature modification

I would buy it

I cannot afford to pay someone per hour to do this. If I had the money, I would pay for this
