i know the arcade mod for threads 6.5 has an ability to limit access to the games by users with more than X amount of posts (i think its even set to 7 by default)

those with 99 or less posts receive some sorta "you need 100 posts before you can get in here, now go back and post" page.

my question, is it possible to:

A) allow mods to set that up for individual threads? so, like, there'd be a little check box at the bottom of a thread (next to "add sig" and "preview post") that says "limit access" -- and that way, when mods create threads, they had the ability to keep n00bs out for awhile.

or

B) allow admins to set that access limitation on a forum by forum basis?

and... just thinking about it...

didn't ubb classic make these types of things easier by the post-level rankings? i.e; posters with fewer than 32 posts were considered "new members" and you could set access and ability limitations for them.

where'd that automated fashion go?

the default titles in threads are limited to being ... well... just titles.

Well, thanks. My computer isn't fixed yet tho... they didn't even open the case in the 8 days they had it. I'm gonna have to find someone else to look at it now.

My notebook motherboard is dead - and ~$550 to replace it we're getting a new computer at some point. In the meantime I'm using a borrowed one. I'll look at this tho, it shouldn't be difficult. It won't be automagic tho, just quick and dirty

heh, no worries. im assuming if you had the magic to spare, it'd go to use on reviving computers

exactly... my wife's computer is dying too, and since she still has 4-5 months of her internship left to go, she's getting a new Dell notebook when it delivers sometime next week. Mine will be at some point after that
