What is the average cost to move a threads to a new server? I have my site at www.o-state.com and hosted by AITcom.net which has given me problems due to bandwidth issues. I have about 4500 members and 250,000 posts.

It depends on the database size and how easily a backup (dump) can be made on your server. Some servers make this real easy, and other servers will time out depending on the size of the database.
A typical large forum for me to move is usually around 4 hours (I sent you a quote). Alot depends on how many files need to be moved (if you allow attachments and there's hundreds of megabytes attachments to copy). And also database size and how easily a backup can be made. If you have shell access on the server, moving the database and site can be much easier. If you don't, and PHP likes to timeout doing a large database dump, it can be a good chunk of the day if you have to dump the database and reimport it in small chunks.
Infopop also offers a server transfer service for $499.
