I appologize if this has been discussed before. I ran several unsuccessful searches so if it's there maybe just point it out to me.

I'm trying to figure out how to prevent members from changing the subject line while replying...in either quick rply, or new reply.
I know I have to change something from a text field to a hidden field but I'm not sure what.
Thanks peeps

Thanks Anno.
If this is the line I'm changing;
Code
{$ubbt_lang['SUBJECT_HIDDEN']}

it doesn't seem to be working in the "edit some more" window.

Wrong line.

In newreply.tmpl

search for:
<input type="text" name="Subject" maxlength="{$config['subjectlength']}" class="formboxes" size="60" value="$Subject" tabindex="1" /><br />

Replace with:
$Subject<br />
<input type="hidden" name="Subject" value="$Subject" />

in addpost_preview.tmpl

search for:
<input type="text" name="Subject" value="$Subject" class="formboxes" size="60" maxlength="{$config['subjectlength']}" />

Replace with:
$Subject
<input type="hidden" name="Subject" value="$Subject" />

Alternatively simply add
readonly
after input type="text"
