This from an email a user sent me...
[]Problem Details: Your site is not setting cookies properly.
My browser DOES support cookies. My browser does NOT support JavaScript.
Perhaps you are wrongly using JS to set cookies; other UBB sites work perfectly in Lynx, so it is only yours which is broken.
The "browser check" script is also reporting the wrong thing; it says my browser does not support setting cookies via HTTP header, but that is false; it does indeed -- you are just not using it correctly.

[] http://www.mameworld.info/misc/lynx2.png[/] [] http://www.mameworld.info/misc/lynx.png[/] This guy's issue is on *his* end. Send him the pics ;-) I already logged into your board via Lynx v2.83 + Win98 SE. No cookie probs. And javascript is only req'd to do the test, it isn't req'd to login and post. Some apps like firewalls and popup blockers can interfere with cookies if they aren't cofig'd properly, so that may be a possible reason for him not being able to have his set/read correctly.

Sounds like he's running a firewall, either on his PC or between his PC and the Internet, that is stripping off http referer info -Zone Alarm will do it by default...

Zone Alarm just also happens to be the best software firewall out there.. not even BlackIce holds a candle to it.. but I rather use a hardware firewall like a router/and natting..

Black Ice is terrible imo, way overrated. My favourite software firewall by far is Kerio v2.1.5 (which also happens to be free). It's very light on system resources too... http://eu.download.kerio.com/dwn/kpf/kerio-pf-2.1.5-en-win.exe

I agree that zone alarm is very good. You just have to go thorugh it and adjut the settings or add most sites and forums to the "safe list"
