How can I add a "news box" to my IIP 5.4.3 page? Right now there are only 4 items (textboxes) in the Configuration section where you can choose which forums you want to display.
The more detailed instructions you can provide would be appreciated.

I am not an expert on IIP. I am building a site now that utilizes it, but am currently concentrating on building the forum structure. I have taken a good look at the config panel.
As I understand it, the amount of news articles is not limited to 4 articles. You identify a maximum of 4 forums for the news posts to pull from. You also identify how many articles from each forum are to be pulled. So in reality you could end up with plenty of posted articles.
The thing to keep in mind is if you want to control what gets posted as news you need to control the access to the forums that the news is pulled from. You could make these "read only" forums so that you could control the posts in them.
For example in IIP config you could pick 4 forums and go 5 deep in each forum and end up with 20 posted articles.
Hope this helped...

It's not the number of posts I want to control as that seems to be working just fine as is. Again... the number of "news" boxes is currently limited to 4 Forums and I would like to know how to increase that number; one for the time being would be just dandy! *cough* now that I know what ya want its a piece of cake. I will write something up for you later but as a hint in the doeditconfigpal.php and editconfigpal.php in the pals directory search for the "news" lines and you will see 4 just add a fifth to each. I will post a mod for you a little later need to write it up for you but took a max of 5 minutes to do
Edit: Never mind Chuck, I found the error by comparing scroung's attachment in the IIP Forum, which I didn't realize existed. Thanks again for all your work.
