Any insight as to why I'm getting this error:
SQL ERROR: Unable to do_query: SELECT DISTINCT Cat_Title,Cat_Number,Cat_Description FROM w3t_Category WHERE Cat_Type='forum' ORDER BY Cat_Number Got error 69 from table handler
When I link to posts from my home page, I can view the thread, but I can't view the main index. Thanks in advance.

Run this from the Threads admin SQL window or PHPMyAdmin
REPAIR TABLE w3t_Category

If that fails to correct it you can restore a backup of the Category table.

That did something, but now I have another error. Here is what I got from repairing w3t_Category:
Resource id #12 row(s) affected by your query.
Now when I try and go to Main Index, I get:
SQL ERROR: Unable to do_query: SELECT DISTINCT Cat_Title,Cat_Number,Cat_Description FROM w3t_Category WHERE Cat_Type='forum' ORDER BY Cat_Number Can't open file: 'w3t_Category.MYD'. (errno: 144)
I must admit, I haven't done ANY table backups and I don't know if my site host does them or how often. Hope I'm not SOL. Thanks, Joe.

Okay well all if not lost I just had this happen to a guy a few days ago.
Do the following. These are sql queries from Threads admin panel.
1.
DROP TABLE w3t_Category
2.
CREATE TABLE `w3t_Category` ( `Cat_Title` varchar(120) NOT NULL default 'General Discussion', `Cat_Number` int(9) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', `Cat_Description` text, `Cat_Type` varchar(10) NOT NULL default 'forum', KEY `indx1` (`Cat_Title`), KEY `indx2` (`Cat_Number`), KEY `type_ndx` (`Cat_Type`) ) TYPE=MyISAM;
3. Then in your admin panel you can recreate your categories. If you go to EDIT FORUMS you will notice that the category names are listed with forums underneath still. So jot down the categories in order as the forums are displayed in order under the proper cat order in the edit window. Now go to create categories and create them one at a time in the order you wrote them down. All should be well and working for you now.
This is the way to do it if you have no backups. I suggest you do backups from now on to be safe. You never know when your going to lose the user or post tables under something like this.

Just sat down this AM to complete this and I tried the SQL table repair one more time. It worked, so I didn't have to drop and replace the table.
I greatly appreciate what you did to help me through this. Thanks so much. Joe.
