Well, I was just editing my profile here and after typing up a long bio for about 5 minutes, I hit submit and it says the bio is too long, please hit the back button to make changes. So.. I hit the back button, but #@)($*@#)(*%#

All of my changes were erased I realize there may not be a way around that... but that is kind of misleading, push the back button to find everything you changed was wiped out

argghh... happened to me more than once If I type something that took me a while, I usually copy it before submitting, has saved me hours of re-typing

I notice that alot on the PC. Thankfully the mac seems more forgiving. But it's frustrating.

I've not tried it with threads - but if the word "Back" were changed to a link

<a href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Back</a>

I think the forms content would be preserved.

It also depends on your browser - talking from experience. Firebird has never showed me this (losing data while using the back button) but IE has.

It's mostly a browser issue, you can't do much do on the backend side to prevent loosing form data. Mozilla and Firebird are very cooperative regarding that.

Yeah, when I make large posts, I typically copy/paste like allen said, but I wasn't even thinking when I was doing my bio That is 5 minutes of my life I will never get back
