[6.2]

One of my users, who happens to have a disability, has reported a strange problem. When editing his preferences, instead of seeing pulldown menus, he's just getting the menu items listed in a text string, with no submit button.

If I "become him", the display looks normal.

Apparently he's using Netscape on a Mac, but I've asked him for more details.

In the meantime, I've attached a screenshot he sent me. Any ideas or suggestions?

I remember seeing that on some old netscape browser sometime... Can't remember what it was. It might have been that the select tag wasn't inside a form tag or something, but that shouldn't apply here. Does the page validate?

I don't know if the page validates. I guess I'd have to get him to save the page as HTML and send it to me. That would probably be easier than explaining to him how to run the page through the validater.

He told me that he's using Netscape 4.77 on a Mac.

Was never able to make that work.

The submit buttons weren't always there..... when you typed in a text box it never wrapped and just went on to the righ forever.

Too old to play nice with the CSS I think.

He said that whatever he's using at work is ok, the problem only occurs on his home computer.

I've asked him if he can try a different browser.

Can you think of anything that I could do? I'd be willing to set up a special style sheet for him, if that would help.

I dont' know if it would affect the issue he was having, but some people with Netscape 4.7x have had luck simply removing the blockquote classes from the stylesheets. It really doesn't like that one.

Just a followup:

The user still hasn't answered my last email, but he's posting regularly, so I suppose he's worked around whatever problems he was having.
