Sometimes it would be nice if multiple choices could be used in polls. Instead of radiobuttons there would be checkboxes. You could select just one, or several answers.

What do you think about such a feature?

I saw this on a communityzero site recently. It was neat and we could probably find a use for it.

UBB.classic has this feature, among several other poll enhancements. In UBB.classic, when creating a poll, you can specify (a) single choice, (b) mutilple choices (no limit), or (c) multiple choices (with a specified maximum). However, UBB.classic polls are complicated. I had to make a few test polls to figure out how they worked.

This is a good idea. We conduct regular polls in our forums and the problem we always have is choosing the one answer that we think is the best. Having the option to select multiple answers would be a great bonus.

.classic polls are like a science project. They work really well, but have a little bit of a learning curve for the average web user to make one

That's o.k., I only allow moderators and administrators to create polls on my boards. Having them be complicated ensures their limited use.

Tell me about it. And, if you think posting .classic polls is tough, try writing a script to import them into .threads.

Fortunately I understand complex Perl structures (such as a hash of arrays of hashes of hashes), but it took me a couple of hours to figure out why some of the poll files were "incomplete". I eventually realized that the incomplete files were a result of people starting to post a poll, and then not finishing the process. (UBB.classic polls make you go through about six forms before you're done.)
