Was the issue with displaying posts as new already fixed? I still encounter some (sporadic) problems, even I don't use the "last post by"-Link to get to the posts.

For example here at threadsdev in "General Feedback" the thread "6.1 Development" always shows as new even I already read it several times. Also used the reload button for postlist and showflat. No change, always displays as new.

I'm also still getting this sometimes. A couple of forums are marked has having some posts unread, but when I enter them there are no unread posts. If I click logout and then log in again it get's fixed... It's really strange that it only happens sometimes and on some boards.

It also both happens on Windows XP/MSIE6 and Linux/Mozilla 1.0.

Any progress on this one? This problem starts to get really annoying. Today I entered my forums and there were lots of new posts in the boards. I entered two of the boards and no thread was marked as having new posts. I'm losing the overview every time this happens

I just tried the following: I opened a board, where the new posts were displayed correctly. I read one of the new posts (and made a reply). Back on the postlist it displayed the rest still as new - thats correct. Then I logged off and on again. I entered the same board - and now all threads were marked as read.... (where's the smiley for crying?)

The problem with some boards having a lit lightbulb on the forum index while no new messages have been entered is still there, occasionally. But since it gets fixed by logging out and then loggin in again I'm guessing it's some sort of problems with the cookies.

But what you described in the second paragraph is normal operation to threads. It only marks new posts since your last visit.

I often get login issues due to having multiple logins and a test board. Seems my browser gets confused about these and I can not logout at times, or I login as a non-admin then goto the forum list and I'm switched to my admin login somehow. Gets kinda annoying but I overcome this by using more than one machine to verify stuff. I just don't like having to delete cookies to switch my login.

Logout should mean logout! LOL
