I just set up a local test site so I could make the needed database modifications to upgrade my site from 5.4.6 to 6.0 without PHP timing out. I have Apache 2.0.36, PHP 4.2.1 and MySQL 3.23.39 running on Windows XP and the website loads just fine. I can't seem to login though. It would seem that the cookie is not being set.
Anyone have an idea what to look at?

I remember a bug or two involving the cookie path or domain, and the cookie expires value. You might check those.

I'm wondering if the problem stems from encryption? I can see that there are or have been modules for encryption but the related .dll file is not present so I can't load to check.

I configured the local installation to use sessions and now it's working fine. Not exactly sure what's going on with cookies but I'll test that more in depth later. It's only for me to kick around when not online anyhow...

Ok I have everything pretty much running locally now. I do know that cookies are working because the shout box uses them to allow for last shout deletion by the shout owner for up to 5 minutes after the shout with the use of cookies. So I think it's something to do with the encryption part even more so now.
