UBBDEV Members:

It has come to our attention that some of you have images in your signatures that are, well, large to say the least. Now, instead of us inforcing any type of rules governing the size of those images, I'd like to try something else first.

We are asking you that you keep any and all images in your signature down to the size of a standard banner ad:

HEIGHT: 60 px
WIDTH: 460 px
SIZE: 30k or less

This way we can all enjoy this functionality without having to worry if a page is going to load properly. Thanks.

My only concern was in the graphics forums where a lot of you are posting quite bit, it will take an average user forever to download the page.

I'm not saying they don't, and for the record, your signature image is fine. That's about the size that I'd like to see all of them. I'm not trying to be a stickler here, but the main reason people come to this site is functionality, not to see the pretty graphics. I need to protect that.

Sorry, for the inconvenience.

inconvenience? ubbdev is providing the service of an open discussion to visitors. the inconvenience is when people post sigs bigger than a 1024x768 resolution.

people: look at it this way - i can pack my whole sig into a 500x60 banner, and it only uses 10k of your bandwidth. if i can do it, YOU can do it, too!
