Has anyone managed to surpass the "high end desktop system"? I just installed UD on my newly assembled computer... processor is rated 1/3rd of the 1.5Ghz (being 1Ghz), my memory is maxed out at 200%, and I've got an overall of 81. Network congestion at the time left me with a connection rating of 12 (bah) and storage of only 1Gb (now adjusted to 10).

My laptop rates a 50 overall
Processor is 27 (for some reason its labeled as a 400mHz celeron), Memory is 34 (128meg), Storage is 20 (1 gig), Net is 100 (Lan). On average I'm getting 10.9 points per cpu hour.

My desktop at home rates a 25 over. The only differences is the processor is a little faster PIII-450mHz, and my Net connection. My dialup rates a dismal 14. On average I'm getting 5.6 points per cpu hour.

Woo! Mine's finally settled at 116!

To view the device stats, click on the UD icon on the taskbar, and click the house icon on the window that pops up. Device rating is in the bottom-right-hand corner.

On the main screen, click on the preferences icon (3rd from the left, down the bottom-right hand corner of the screen) and choose "modify device profile"... a browser window will pop up; log in to the UD site, and choose "profiles" from the menu on the left. On the screen that appears, click a profile name to edit its properties (probably "Default", unless you've altered this before)

You can assign up to 10Gb, but since it uses some of this space for storage, you will never actually get 200% at the end of a rusults processing... mine is currently at 196 for storage.

How does the Net Access Performance get determined? How can I change it? I have only a 4.... and I think I should have more.

I am not connecting by dialup; I have a 128 kbps 24/7 connection. What do you think?

manuelbp,

Check your device profile settings. It might be configured as a dialup by default. I *think* that when you communicate with the UD Server that it tests your up/down throughput. However, if your profile is configured as a modem, it might be a moot point. Try changing it to be isdn or dsl or something. See if that works.

I did recently change my hard drive allocation at home. I think I bumped it up to 8 gig, but the program doesn't seem to use any more space than before (as of yet). This increased my storage rating to like 178 (it was 20 prior to that, at 1 gig), and gave me an overall over 30(?), was 25 before.

With a dial-up connection on all my computers... My Dell Desktop ranks best.. 77 but once the gigabytes go from 1 to 10 I am sure that will rise the only thing that is low is the Memory. But my network is 100, my processor is 94, and the memory is 20.
