Is there a way to tell once a file has been uploaded to a Linux server if it was uploaded in ASCii or Binary?

My actual problem is trying to confirm that a file is uploaded in binary. I have the ASCii files finally working properly but can not get the shock wave stuff so I am thinking it is not peroperly uploaded.
The one problem I have is I shut down FTP and only use SSH. F-Secure's program does not offer ASCii/Binary modes but I found Secure Shell does. I am jsut not sure things are being uploaded properly.
All files including the following extensions must be uploaded in ASCII mode for them to work:
.pl
.file
.cgi
.thread
.list
.html

You posted it in the Installing and Upgrading to V6, so I thought you meant the UBB files...
