Well, we have decided to use our UBB for reviews/previews/news/compotitions etc (with MAJOR template modifications) as well as the forums, but I need to know how to add an extra bit; e.g. to have $screenshot1 (already added in the new topic form/edit form) added to the actual post .CGI file. I guess it's something in ubb_lib_posting.cgi, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance Just realised I wasn't too clear there Well, I'll do a 'flow chart' NEW TOPIC FORM Subject Message Icon Message Screenshot1 (already added here) --> xxxxxxxxxxx.cgi (need to know how to store the $screenshot1 stuff in here) --> TOPIC (need to know how to retrieve the $screenshot1 stuff). EDIT 2: It'll be a UBB 6.3 final... but base it on UBB 6.3 beta

What, exactly, is $screenshot1? What will it contain?

Just a normal string; all of them would be strings with an specified in the template if needed.

My first thought would be to divide the message field itself, then split it before you want to use it...

Aah... So -- basically -- tell ubb_lib_postings.cgi (or whatever it is, it may be ubb_edit_post.cgi or whatever it's called ) to go:
Then somewhere in some other file:
? (Tho I', probably compmetely wrong -- Perl isn't m forte )

You're perfectly correct, actually.

Right, I have now managed to make it look like this:
Which I somehow think isn't quite right :p (I'm using the variable $publisher here). Of course, I may be wrong...
Oh yeah, to get to this point I added:
</pre></div></div>to sub cook_post and<br><div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Code</div><div class="ubbcode-body ubbcode-pre" ><pre> after the local in sub create_topic -- I'm pretty sure that that's wrong... :p
I also tried adding after the local:
but I am now too confused to think properly

|| is the delimiter for the A and Z lines - if you want to split an entry in the Z line, you'll want to use a different delimiter...

The join is right - the split isn't. Use /|/

why all the joins and splits? its not that hard just to add another variable. and probably less work for the server than joining and splitting.

BUMPI have started on this, and put one which doesn't need too many variables up on the site without them (see below) but I really need to know how to do this http://www.aagames.co.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=27
