Lok is the guy that discovered the exploit in the avatar hack that qasic just fixed and he has found numerous other exploits in UBB (every version). Lok is a great guy to have around if you want to make UBB safer. I think it's time that this gets more attention. I'm tired of hearing that we just keep upgrading as it gets "safer" but still not fixed. UBBDev is a website about hacking boards, and a lot of us spend countless hours customizing our boards and sites and to come to a site that specializes in that and have Infopop tell us "tough luck, just upgrade" is wrong. We pay for this product and should get more respect than that. ------------------ Netwerkin.com First place winner January 2002 Members Spotlight! Perhaps with a slight change in presentation, you can get these people to listen to you. It has taken me time to get used to you. And I have found you to be frighteningly talented. To the rest of you reading lok.. if you keep your hackles down and the mind open, he's really quite handy to have around a ubb. Perhaps it's the Aussie persona that makes him a "little hard to handle". *grin* I don't normally bother technical sites. I am admin at Netwerkin and Netherrealm and quite usually a reasonable voice. I'd like to think that lok can find a way to fit in here and you could find a way to let him. Tis to your advantage.

*smiles* Don't get the wrong impression anybody. I'm not looking to have anyone relax around this man. He's brilliant. Kind of like when you hire a master thief to teach you how to protect yourself from such things.. that's what you get with lok. If you want to find the security leaks in a board, ask him. He's like water and fissures. He'll get in. Keep him around, listen, work with him, email with him.. and I promise, you'll learn a great deal. Anyone that thinks they're infallible has lost already. I want all my weaknesses pointed out, and of course, the instructions for the repair given to me as well. I would suggest, though, that you don't turn your back. *hugs to lok*

Netwerkin here we come! WASSUP GANG! I'm so glad to come across this topic. I know several UBB boards that were hacked and even my own board (the main one) is a target. Like many, I spend way too much time customizing it so it becomes a bitter moment to find out that my work can desolve in matter of seconds. Just the other day I got serious threats so I've taken precautions, but even that is not guaranteed. While it is not possible to stop all vulnerabilities I agree that something of this nature should be taken more seriously. I'm considered new in the UBB community, paid good money and hate to see a good product go sour because the lack of interest to resolve the matter. I don't make mods, let alone code boards, but if the UBB community band together I'm sure a viable solution(s) can take place as you guys are extremely talented. I met some cool people because of UBB. Anyway, I'll leave it at that. Great to see you LORD! Gonna jet now...
