Is it realy pops up without refresh?
It would be awesome when the reciever could reply.

I'd like something like that too, so the person who gets IM'ed can reply within that window. More convienience. smile

I should have stayed with what I had... Now it doesn't work at all. No little pop-up window at all. And yes, I turned off my PUK and Stop Sign. I think I'll leave this one for awhile. Nothing else is getting done and I'm starting to dream about this sucker...

I'm not sure what's happening, but the link and everything works perfectly for me to send an IM... However, no one ever gets it. Several members have tried it on my board, and it looks like it should work, but it doesn't???

I also get no error messages on anything...

If anyone can help, it'd be muchly appreciated!

I just got the hack yesterday, so I worked with that new file. Yes, the CHmod was set to 755....

Anything else I could try?

I assume the edited message originally by LK in the start of this thread included the edited .txt file which removed those parts?

Is there something I should change that wasn't in the file explaining the hack?

LD... yes, I went back to the first file and un-did everything from that file. Removed all files that you said to upload. Then started over fresh with the new file that you posted the other day. I don't know what the problem is... everything is there... but no one gets the message...

I had problem when using v1.1 with JCTemplate.
When I update to v1.2, without any problem. And can get the message very quick. Better than v1.1.

Did you hack in the new code for public_common and that other file?

Okay, so I still have the problem. I started a test board, and started this hack from scratch...It's still not working...

The url for the test board is:
http://www.ourfreerein.com/cgi/XtestX/ultimatebb.cgi

I have no clue what is wrong....

First I say thanks for this nice hack.

I modified it a bit. First I put in the date and time the message was written into the message. It happend more then once to me, that I was online and reading around (also in other pages). When I came back to my forum reading a new page, I got a message which seemed to be older than a view minutes.

Next I changed the "write a message form" to display 6 online-members in a row.

Now I am working on a "select-all" button, but only for admin/mods.

It is not hard to do these changes, but if someone is interested, I can post the code.

And I called it "PopUp-Message", because IM is not that well known here... wink

AnnoymeMore, re-upload ubb_checkmsg.cgi; make sure it's chmodded the same as ultimatebb.cgi; make sure the first line (#!/usr/bin/perl) is correct, if you don't know - check ultimatebb.cgi's first line.

brett - thanks laugh

Kwik - do you agree if I add it to the hack? if not, sure, post and I won't laugh

Done, please everybody upgrade to 1.2.5 by only re-uploading ubb_msg.cgi and ubb_checkmsg.cgi, and re-hack cp_modaddon.cgi smile

I only re-uploaded ubb_msg.cgi and ubb_checkmsg.cgi as you stated above, cleared cache and now my forum home gives the following error rather than loading:

Undefined subroutine &main::check_ims called at CGIPath/ubb_lib_files.cgi line 517.

I was running v1.1 prior to this upgrade. I had to disable it so my forums could be accessible, but if you need to see it in action, give me a time, and I'll readd it.

You didn't upgrade to 1.2 first.

BTW, I edited my post above to note to rehack cp_modaddon.cgi - please download the zip AGAIN to do it. smile

Note to self: Upgrading sucks.

It'd be really cool if MutiHack had the ability to uninstall hacks as well.

Okay - did I miss a step or what? If I try to load http://vvvcentral.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: invite() in D:sitesvvvcentralubbcache-ZCKEKKA5ubb_filessummarysummary.html on line 40

I did unhack ultimatebb.php and ubb_lib_files.cgi. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Oh - and I did clear the cache as well. Basically, I completely uninstalled v1.1 and installed v1.2.5 fresh.

Thanks, LK. That was quick.

"im_select_all" seems to be missing in var_wordlets_im.cgi (from the ZIP-File).

Oops, I forgot to update it frown Download the zip again now and update vars_wordlets_im.cgi. (if you translated it, it's just the 2 last lines before ) wink

ShadowChaser, you STILL didn't do what I told you to - unhack ubb_lib_files.cgi, ultimatebb.php, and rehack public_common.pl (that means, to remove what was before and add what it has now)

Ouch - that was harsh... I thought I did re-hack the publiv_common.pl, but I missed a line in the original MultiHack file. My bad.

Sorry for wasting your time, LK.

I think it must be re-written, but it would be nice if the "I dont want to get IM"-checkbox is an option in the profile.

Additional it could be interesting for admin/mods to send IM also to Guest which are not loged in. Could it? I am not quite shure... (sorry for thinking loud)...

Well, it's possible to go by IP, but you can't know who's this guest so you have no reason at all to do it.

LK - yes, I did not really find a reason except spamming... well...errr....commercials from the admin.

Hack works, but I get a lot of:
[Thu Jul 4 12:03:26 2002] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.x] Premature end of script headers: /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs//cgi-bin/ubb/ubb_checkmsg.cgi

lines in my error.log

lol

Anyhow, I HATE this error. tipsy Make sure your first line in ubb_checkmsg.cgi (#!/usr/bin/perl) is the same as ultimatebb.cgi's first line. If it still doesn't fix it, I need your ICQ/AIM/Yahoo number (I don't have an error log in my server)

LK - who doesnt like to live without this fabulous, in-detailed errormessage.

I put the ICQ-# in my profile. But it works on my dev-account, but not on the real one. Even the files are identicaly frown - must be something with the server (they are different).

Is it possible for someone who wants to do harm, to put malicious code in the textfield and send an IM that wipes out your screen? I saw this happen twice but i'm not sure, just want to know if it's possible.
