Ok it installs by multi with no errors. Problem is when you goto the forum settings and turn upload feature to on, submit change. Goto forum, it still states uploading not allowed in that forum. So I go back in CP look at forum settings and what is happening is the radio button for on/off is not taking. Niether on or off are selected. No matter how many times I pick an option, it doesnt take.

AllenAyres your absolutely right, I'm sorry. I do thank you for this hack. Appreciation tends to be overlooked at times by others and myself.

thanks goes out to Allen for this.

I got MH to finally work, but I am also seeing the 'not sticking' behavior.

Allen, I think that there is a reason for $RESERVED  wink

I can't really tell what's wrong, but I suggest you to move $in{upload} AFTER $RESERVED|^|, and change [18] everywhere to [19]...

I'm gonna make a Mod CP Addon version for it, do you mind if I post it Allen?

Fine with me smile

I tended to think it may be conflicting with reserved as well, but hadn't stopped to install it yet - we'll use the mod_cp version for the db upgrade.

Mine worked until I tweaked the custom titles. The vars_misc.cgi get corrupt somehow... Maybe that will help the developers fix it...

Sounds like permission problems on your upload folder.

I think i have an answer to one of the problems.

If your using the LK version of this hack, the control panel section updates the vars_modifications.cgi file with the save to location BUT the upload.cgi code reads the save to location from the vars_misc.cgi.

I had this hack installed on my old 6.1.05 ubb so the vars_misc.cgi locations were carried over and i get an invalid folder error but if you havnt installed this before there will be no locations stored and I have no idea what error it will give...

Also theres a 5 on the end of the #!/usr/bin/perl line, on my ubb it wont do anything unless i remove it.

Anyway hope this helps (if i am right that is)

Forgot to ask, which is the best way to fix it, edit the mod or edit the upload.cgi?

What folder does it upload to? The instructions say nothing about creating a new directory.

You should add a new directory, chmod to 777 and put it in Misc Settings, as your upload dir. (or Modification Settings)

This is really getting frustrating. This is the error that my server is reporting to me.

[Fri May 31 21:07:33 2002] [error] [client ------------] Premature end of script headers: /home/dragon/public_html/cgi-bin/ubb_upload.cgi
[Fri May 31 21:07:33 2002] [error] (2)No such file or directory: exec of /home/dragon/public_html/cgi-bin/ubb_upload.cgi failed

any idea what is going on? I have everything set the way that it is supposed to be. I have rehacked it 20 times now with LK's newly updated files and still get this error......

Gosh, "premature end of headers" is making me nightmares wink
But... make sure ubb_upload.cgi is uploaded to your UBB's cgi-bin directory; make sure it's chmodded to 755; make sure that "vars_config.cgi" is also in that directory, if not, change ubb_upload.cgi line 23 to its place; make sure vars_modifications.cgi is chmodded to 777; make sure you CHANGED modification settings and used a CORRECT path for uploads, a directory that already exists and that is chmodded to 777; no more ideas smirk

can u do this ?

if u select in cp "save by membername or no." the script save the "image.gif" as "member.gif" - and at the next time the user overwrite the image.

can u insert radiobuttons in the upload form, so user can select "save ths image as no 1 or 2 or ... 10." so the scrpit save the image.gif as "member_02.gif" or "mebmer_10.gif" ...

hope u understand smile

and if u do this - do in cp a function there u can select the max. upload images ...

Ok here's my problem, I have added and chmoded an upload folder, I used the latest mhp file. ANd I get this on the upload screen

The file size limit is bytes

file formats allowed:
extenisons
you cant upload any file formats that are not listed here

Notice there is no limit set, and no extensions listed, etc.

I have defined them in the modification settings. I have also chmoded the upload_x files in the cgi-bin to 755.

when I try to upload a file anyway it gives me

Illegal File Format (extension)
You can not upload this file format dragonmotorsports.txt
please upload a different file or Do not upload at all.

(edit) I got the line above to work. I was putting .txt, .jpg, etc instead of just txt, and jpg. But now I got this: upload_file_name_dontworry
right under the box that gives you the ling. Kind annoying if you ask me. Where do I get rid of that.

you can see my board in the link in my sig. thanks.

edit: also it seems as though the window sizing/placement option in the settings does not work either. I am using IE 6.

edit, also someone I think meantioned this, but if a file with the same extension gets uploaded by the same member it overwrites the existing file. Is there a way to use this with using the members name/number like dragonmotorsports_1.txt, and dragonmotorsports_2.txt, etc?

All you guys asking for "non-multihack" formats. This should be obvious but there is an easy answer to your problem - install multihack.

Then all you need to do is load the hack into it, click on edit, and all the text is there to do the hack manually if you desire.

Cheers

Change ubb_upload.cgi's first line to reflect your perl path.

Hi,
I have a couple of little problems with this hack if anyone can help.
Firstly in the control panel I only have an option under 'forums' to activate it, nothing else to configure it, I've looked in 'misc' but there is nothing in there.
Secondly, there is no option on the post form to actualy attach anything.
I see that quite a few people are having problems with this-has anyone got it work yet??
Would doing the hack manualy instead of using multihack have any effect??

Help appreciated

Mors

Finally got this working with 6.3! laugh
To get it to work I did the following:
-Re-installed my board from scratch.
-Upgraded the wordlet mods.
-Upgraded the CP mods.
-Installed the hack manualy from the text file in LK's zip file. ( LK upload zip )
-Turned on the upload option in the forum settings.
-Configured the path/file size etc in the 'modification settings' under the 'primary settings' drop-down

And tadaaaa, it works!!

Thanks to Ely_M for this hack laugh
