works great! Thanks.
You should also mention that after installing the hack, admin should go to the CP -> Forum Setting Details and check the Hidden button.

@Spalsh

It is not a problem of my hack. It is a problem of UBB. If you post 2 threads at the same time. the last thread will be the second thread.

I post this: first test1 than test2 than test 3 and you will see this in every forum.

test3 ...... 12:24 AM
test1 ...... 12:23 AM
test2 ...... 12:23 AM

Just finished the install e@sy and it works great.

Only thing I had to do was to first set the forum as restricted, then go back and set it hidden after that.

Nice job! smile

I know nothing about UBB mods but I expect you'd need to modify the rebuild pages in order to look for the forum files in the private dirs?
dunno
another suggestion I'd have would be to make the mod automatically move the forum files from the private folder to the public one (or back, depending on what you're doing) when you edit the forum settings

dunno just suggestions smile

Okay, the hack works great except that it shows up on the who's online page. You can't enter the forum but it being listed is a big no-no.

Did I miss a step somewhere? I'm on 6.1.0.3

I also get an error after rebuilding the forum stats. I had to "unhide" the forum to rebuild the stats, then when I re-hide it I get an error saying that there isn't a forum_thread_data file even though it's in the folder.

Edit: by moving the forum_thread_data file into the private folder manually I can get into the forum again. I'm assuming the issue is in the same area that the failure of the forum stats rebuild is.

I have a stranger one, if I have a hidden forum, only people with access to the hidden forum can see the WOL on the summary page. As soon as I unhide the forum it comes back...

I must have done something wrong but for the life of me I can't find it.

I've been testing this since I installed it last week and working on moving my entire board to 6.1x, but I'm now delaying as I'm seeing the same behavior everyone else is mentioning.

As a guest on the board, the first time the page loads, I see WOL on summary, but if I go into a forum and back to summary, WOL goes away, UNLESS logged in.

Additionally, I'm seeing the same thing everyone else is on the rebuilding forum stat files, "Cannot find any forum_thread_data files".

If I copy the forum_thread_data.file out of the hidden directory under the forum to the forum directory, it deletes that file and gives the error! "Cannot find any forum_thread_data files".

BUT, if I copy all the data from the private directory up to the forum directory rebuild works. Of course this is similar to unhiding the forum itself.

So, looks like we have an issue with WOL hack, and how UBB rebuilds forum stat files. Hope to see some ideas on this. smile

For the stat's problem look at cp_index.cgi at line ~518

Code
[/code]

replace it with this

Code
</pre></div></div><br><br>and for the history (there is the same problem) look at line ~345<br><br><div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Code</div><div class="ubbcode-body ubbcode-pre" ><pre>

replace it with this

[code]

this time I moved all the stuff in the private dir of one of my forums, and put it in the main forum dir, told it to rebuild the forum stats, and it didn't complain... just that it created its updated forum stats files in the private dir again...
so it seems to look for the forum files in the main dir, but want to put its updated files in the private dir

I'm very confused

That's odd, I'm able to rebuild the stats now, but the WOL is a bizarre bug. I'm hoping to see an answer to this soon.

Yahoo!
found my problem:
[code][/code]

It was related to building the forum summary or something... maybe XperT already had it or something, and I didn't, so when it tried to build mine, it wouldn't work...
