Hello,

I am using version 6.1.0.3 of the UBB, and after I had installed this hack, it showed the number of private messages, but when going onto topics that had 2 or more pages, ie going onto the second page of the topic I got this error message:

Not passed a valid topic: '', '18' at ubb_lib_files.cgi line 72.

I do have whois online hack intstalled and followed the instructions carefully for the parts related to whois online. I also have the sticky threads hack installed.

I ended up having to re-install the hacked files from back up as ultimatebb.cgi kept failing with compilation errors.

Would appreciate a little insite on this one before I attempt to re-install it again.

I moved it up under the "Hello, Username" instead of adding the box down below, a leetle less space taken up

I still waiting for the wav file fix. I've tried about everything I can and it still doesn't work. Whether you have 0 or 1000 pm's it still plays the sound.

Come on Jordo my friend. Figure this out for us and let us know something.

I'm still stuck on this sound file problem. if any of you have figure it out, please let me know. I've tried everything I can and the only thing that happens is that it plays the sound whether I got a private message or not...

I'm running into the cookie problem on 6.1.0.3 I have to logout and back in again to fix the count.

a) err, nm a, go on to b
b) check the last addition you are supposed to make to ultimatebb.cgi, make sure you did a replacement.

Variables, try to make the first if:

if(''==pms_cookie || null==pms_cookie || 0==pms_cookie) {

Anyway, I think it's not a good idea, because it will beep for an unread pm and not a new one, so what if someone doesn't want to read it for some reason?

Well...that's not it. In ubb 6.0.x it worked good. Is this code so different?

Hmm, I can't see the .wav thing anywhere

Ummm.. I also added this hack in public_forum_page.pl using tomjinx1's update, but the 'Hello, Username' is further to the right than it should be.. Is there a way of fixing this..?

Dean Dude - something is wrong in what you added to ultimatebb.cgi. make sure if you have whos online installed you follow the directions carefully as well...

I got a problem i hope you can help me with...?!?

I hacked my board (UBB 6.1.0.3) and it worked great. Nothing problems with that, BUT... he he always a BUT on everything... LOL

When someone reciev a PM, it stands "» PM Inbox: 0 New " all the time... why`s that ?!?!?

I`ve hacked it twice, cleared my cache and sent PM`s to alot members to see if it`s works, but nothing.. he he Isn`t easy this i think to be the programmer, but i hope you will help me like you help the rest of the members ...

if it is saying 0 New all the time the cookie is not being set, check the additions to ultimatebb.cgi, in particular there is a section to replace in there that is critical.

Hmm... funny thing. Just re-hacked the ultimatebb.cgi file and it worked ! HA !!.. he he But, i`ve re-hacked the file now... 3 times. No I`M confused..

I have installed it but when i go to the ultimatebb.cgi page it looks ok until u scrol down where the link to the Icon Legend images is mucked up and none of the links work to any of the different forums. Also the inbox stays at 0 even if i get send a pm help me please.

what that thing do?
some part at the ultimatebb.cgi page after the forums list that write there if you have any private massage.
if yes why i don't see any thing after i edit the cgi and cp pages?
and all work good

Installed it in my site, so far it works great. I make it show up in all forums under the who's online bar, I think it looks better there, since it's easier for members to see it.

It does not work with 6.2 beta v2

it keeps saying that there is a PM the user have to log out first and than log back in again to refresh.

It's almost beyond believe that there is no code somewhere that can be modified to let the PM work in conjunction with a "you have new mail" wav. file.

I tried, but failed. All the suggetions mentioned here are "not it" Who can do this?

I THINK that this hack possibly caused my 6.1.0.4 to revert back to 6.1.0.3

Not sure if this is vital, I just spent two hours re-upgrading to .0.4, rehacking News Fader 4.1, then Whos Online, followed by PM Inbox 1.1. As soon as I did that my board came back online. With the 6.1.0.3 on the bottom of the main page.

Any ideas why?

When I do a UBB version check:

The latest release is: 6.1.0.4,
released on January 10, 2002.

You are using: 6.1.0.3,
released on November 15, 2001.

But I am REALLY using 6.1.0.4!!! Upgraded two times, followed by NewsFader 4.1, Who's Online, and Private Inbox 1.1.
