well the one everyone is using now was most likely the 6.1x version modified to work. So peple figured it would be best to have someone update it for the n00bs (like me and others) and here we are smile

Did you follow install instructions?

I believe you have edit a few files(i.e. ulimatebb.cgi, vars_wordlets.cgi some other files)

Check to make sure you did everything.

I have a clean install of 6.2.1 (not in my sig). I have updated the ultimatebb.cgi cp.cgi cp_common.pl and created and uploaded the vars_wordlets_mods.cgi. I have chmod as appropriate.

Whenever I run this, I get:

quote:
ERROR: /www/orn/cgi-bin (UBB CGI directory) is write protected. Please CHMOD this directory to 777 or give the IUSR_INET account on WinNT/2K Change access to this directory!
It is not the permissions!

I am running Red Hat 7.1 and Apache if it matters. Perl is V5+something.

Help?

Ok, I have a Modifications Wordlets selection in my Wordlets tab in the Control Panel. It has a text-entry-looking box above the mod_wordlets with the text set_wordlets.

What does this mean?

I have already selected Update Modification Wordlets.

Just a note folks that the auto install file (the ultimatebb_mod_wordlets_install.cgi file) is NOT SUPPORTED. You use it at your own risk.

I just added wordlets_mods to then end and i got that. If that correct because that is the only line i see like that.

That would do the trick. Are you sure you're using a UBB 6.2.x? 6.2.x would have the pntf thingee.

The hack is stable. I haven't done a thorough code review of it thus it hasn't reach a 'COMPLETE' status yet.

Qasic,
I need help! I used your auto-install and pretty much everything works great...HOWEVER

When I install other hacks that require vars_wordlets_mods to be added, it doesn't "see" the new wordlets and it seems to break the ability of ubb to use vars_wordlets_mods.

Do you have any suggestions? I keep thinking it's the hack code that isn't complete. (Like I should be adding something to another file to prompt vars_wordlets_mods to update)

My understanding is that since I've installed your original vars_wordlets_mods thingee, I should be able to upload a new vars_wordlets_mods file and the cp should then allow me to update the wordlets within that modified file. It works for some hacks, yet not for others. I've successfully installed the statistics, authority & hit hacks that require vars_wordlets_mods to be updated. Yet struggling with others....because vars_wordlets_mods won't update through the control panel.

Thanks ahead of time!
Regards,
Helen

Hi, Helen

When certain hacks require Modification Wordlets, they usually ask you to add certain wordets to vars_wordlets_mods.cgi. You can't add them via cp.cgi. You need to modify vars_wordlets_mods.cgi directly, save it, and then re-upload. Then your wordlets will appear.

Same problem as Josh... no pntf... the line ends with wordlets_date... so I just added the wordlets_mods to the end. And yes, I have UBB 6.2.0.

I don't know if that is what is causing my problem or not... I keep getting a Syntax error on line 43 near %; of my cp_wordlets.cgi ... I've checked it all and matched it against the instructions... cleared... rehacked TWICE... any advice on this?

I don't see a problem any more. Can you be more specific?

Rehack again after taking a break. I'm pretty sure the instructions are correct smile You may want to post the code around the error to see if I may see the problem.

You may want to inform the author of the Thinking Clock hack to update the URL then smile
