I can almost already guess Allen's response to this: Please send all donations to... wink

I used to be opposed to the sidebar in my modspace and stuff too (and all corporate sponsorship in general). But I fully understand where AA's coming from, and why it's there. So I just shut my mouth and be happy that the site's here at all, advert or not. laugh

Yeah, I agree it messes up alot of things (table widths, posts, etc.) but its for a good cause, so it's ok. smile

Also I'll prolly wont have to worry about hitting the quote button by accident, when I want to edit, since the quote button is on a new line, for me anyways. smile

Travis, What resolution are you running??

(Soul, your resolution?)

I'm running 1024 x 768 without a problem.

I run all my browsers in 800x600, even though I'm at 1280x1024.. I get a scrollbar on many pages.

It just doesn't look or work 'right', IMVHO.

please send all donations to... wink

the column is 125 wide... and does leave a scroll bar at 800x600 on some screens... most notably the reply and post new topic screens. I'l see if I can make some adjustments here and there wink Upcoming template changes will improve the look of that whole section as well smile

Edit: made some adjustments, but it won't get much better without either adding the graphic to the upper right (preferred) or removing the "U" in the upper left (which I'd prefer we did not do).

Also, part of the problem is that big blue space up yonder to the upper right that had the "modpsace" graphic in it... with the "leaning U" in the upper left sticking down so far, everything is kinda squished... a replacement for the modspace graphic would improve the look tremendously... hint hint hint wink

Most people bypass the front page and the announcements completely, we plan to use the column to keep pertinent announcements available. I tried the "Intro Text" for the forum summary and it looked plain ugly. You'd agree if you saw it this afternoon.

Perhaps the sidebar could go below the U, and the entire UBB to the right of it (the sidebar AND the U)? I'm not sure how the HTML for that would work.

that's possible, would involve some tricky html work... for that matter we could move the u to the right and move the move the forum tables up... hmmmmmm...

Instead of a sidebar, how about a Top Bar Table, which would appear below the header. This would allow displaying of whatever goes in the sidebar, as well as not squish the forum frames.

I'm at 1024x768, but I'm usually doing a number of things on my pc so I leave it windowed... I just want to scroll one direction, thanks laugh

I think if you could put it horizontally, under the 'Hello 'username' [log out]' area that would look better and not be such a pita smile

I tried it as a header... "U"gly was my reaction wink

Some things were changed again today... there should be no more side-scrolling now unless a thread has code posted to it or something similar, which happens at most any resolution. I am using 800x600 on a 15in monitor at home and it fits nicely now.

Further template modification once 6.1 goes final will help tremendously. smile
