Final Release for 6.0 Boards:
http://dpk.b000.net/?action=get_download&download=smiliemod_1.1.zip

This is the final release for 6.0 based boards. To install, read the readme.txt file in the install documentation directory of the zip file. It should point you in the right direction. There is nothing big really in this install, it fixes bugs and some problems in the ubb_smilie and cp_smilie cgi files. Also all the auto installing files have been updated so the actually work now.

You should have code POSTED when you create a topic in here, but you've done the next best thing so I won't whine. wink

Good luck with it, I'm looking forward to this one!

Here they are, as promised, three snaps of the mod in action. For the most part, the mod is done. I just have to straighten up a couple things before I release it. I worked for about 4 hours when I got home.

I'm typing up the install instructions now for the wordlet file, once that is done, I just have to zip everything up. This should be public beta by around noon today, EST.

DPK, in order to make wordlet use easier for everyone, you should rename vars_wordlets_mod to vars_wordlets_smilie that way no editing to do and an easier mod to hack smile

As soon as this mod is released I will translate it into french, good luck !

I'm using the mod wordlets for really only one reason. It would make life easier for most hackers/moders if we all just used one wordlet file. That way we wouldnt have about 50 wordlet options in the dropdown box. smile Credits to Allen and Leshrac for the idea.

Works perfectly.... just one question though. Like the avatars hack could you have a 'Smile Management' section where you can upload smiles through the control panel instead of going through FTP!

DPK, then maybe you should do like the avatar hack and provide the wordlets section inside the rest of the configuration page.

I think what Leshrac meant was use a file named vars_wordlets_nameofmod instead od adding wordlets to ubb's files

my bad, I hadn't read the updated thread smile

Nice job DPK. It would be cool if you could turn on/off different sets of smilies. For instance, on Halloween you could turn on your set of Halloween smilies, then revert back to another set after the holiday was over.

I just installed the hack right now at my ubb [ http://forums.ultanime.net ] and it seems to work great. I haven't found any problems at all! Very nice work smile.

Suggestion:
I think that for your next beta that you release you should have it like on the old Smile CP hack where you can add more than one at a time by putting in the number of smiles you are adding. It would make it much more easier to add the smiles than right now where you have to add them 1 by 1 by 1 it gets tirering. Well that was just a suggestion I hope you take it into consideration smile. The only other thing that I see is in the Instant Graemlins they don't seem to come lined up. If you don't get what I mean go to my board [ http://forums.ultanime.net ] and go to post a new topic then when you go down to Instant Graemlins you will see that they arn't lined up in the row properly. Well that's all that I can find that I think should maybe get fixed other than that everything is great! Keep up the good work.

*EDIT*
Here's another thing I just thought of. Isn't the Instant Graemlins box space going to get pretty full if you add tons of smiles? Is there a way maybe you could have like a popup window where you could click and put them on because like me I would like to add alot of smiles but I'm thinking that that Instant Graemlins box is going to get pretty huge and take up alot of space so what I'm saying is there any way that you could make this like a pop-up window or somthing so that space doesn't get really full.

Thank you for the time and consideration smile.

I just installed it and it works great. smile

Do you mind if I poke around and see if I can't get a drop down box working for these too?

I have this working on my ubb and it's version 6.01 and is working perfectly.

As for you problem it sounds like you are uploading the icons the the smiles folder but when you add them you must be putting more than smile.gif in the path spot. If you are adding somthing like the whole path or things like that, that could be your problem just make sure you put in smile.gif or whatever it is. Also make sure you are uploading the smiles to the smiles folder in the NonCGI directory. If you did all that and it doesn't work then just wait for DPK or somone like that.

Yep did all that, smiles in noncgi folder, uploaded smiles in binary, example input in smiles settings in cp panel is smiles.gif.

Everything is correct and my board has no other problems, smiles was working till i installed this hack, now there not.. frown

Well re-download the hack and go over the instructions again. Maybe you added something wrong or forgot part of a code. Ussually when you run into problems first try to go over your instructions again and make sure you followed everything correctly.
