LK, I have something strange happening on my chatmod too.

I have the Dynamic-FX Slide-In Menu (v 6.5) installed all over the UBB, also on the Chat page.

The strange thing is that the slide in menu slide out BEHIND the chatapplet instead of in FRONT of it.

Also there is something strange happening with the wording from nickserv inside the chatapplet.
Specialy the centense "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password Otherwise," is totaly messed up.
I have checked that this is not happening if I log on to the server using mIRC, so I guess it must be a bug in the applet or something similar.

The first bug occurs in all javas.

In the chat mod, the syntax is /nickserv identify , so maybe yours doesn't support the alias /nickserv. To fix it, in the CP - Alias, type /nickserv=/msg nickserv

hmm...about the first bug...how can it be that the problem isnt appearing on the forum summary and categories pages?
I mean, it goes in FRONT of the News Fader as it should.?

Hmm... That's weird, the original News Fader (by DHTMLab) hided my menus... Maybe there is a switch somewhere I don't know about.

This might sound stupid and I probably did overlook something, but here's my prob: I did everything above. My name is registered. Now, when I try to register the channel it says 'not op of channel' (or something) and when I try to appoint myself as op it says 'channel not registered' So I'm going in circles.

How about making this hack compatible with the 'Category Only' UBB display like Tovok's Statistic hack is?

Or allowing it to show up at the top of Forum and Topic listing pages?

ZIP File updated with the changes mentioned above, and two changes in ubb_chat.cgi (the topic is now $vars_config{BBName} : $vars_wordlets_mods{chat}, and GuestXXXXX is really randomized, unlike before).

Do you have a demo for the new 'Cat Specific' layout so I can give it a peek?

Thanks for your help! I did manage to get everything in order.

I did some modifying of my own and managed to get the chat link displayed on the top of the tables instead of the bottom. I also got the chat link on the top of my forum pages. This is useful if someone gets an invite and is on a forum page.

That is EXACTLY what this hack does
Connects you to an IRC server of your choise, and an IRC channel of your choise.
The mod will not work at all, if you dont connect it to an IRC server.

I've noticed a couple of bugs/problems with your hack, use my forum to see:

1) The '?' instructions page seems to be outputting the text incorrectly, it also doesn't format well for differen't styles.

2) The "Who's Online" integration doesn't work, in fact I've never seen it work on other forums using it. This morning we had 8 people using it as a test through the forum and they sat there for 20 mins, still kept saying 'no one'.

I went to one of the mods forums to test it as well, same problem and yes the latest WOL is installed (v4.0.1 [6.04e]).

Allen, it's pretty easy, but when I try it it says I don't have the ID or something, so I can't really test it.

1) In the next version (for 6.1) you'll be able to choose its height/width.
2) I tested it in your board using my clone, and it showed it just fine. Don't forget it won't include yourself, any user that isn't using jIRC or anyone that opens a new window after the chat in the last 10 minutes

If it won't include myself then if there's me and another online that'd = 1. Any way to fix this?

It won't include yourself because if you enter the main page to check it, you'll be "Viewing: Main Page" instead of "Chatting".

For UBB6 or 6.1?

right now he's using 6.05... I imagine he plans to move to 6.1 once it's released and the few other modifications he has installed is stable. As long as you working on it, I am sure he'll be fine with 6.1

What version of Jpilot does this use? Is it the newest, which I beleive is 2.5.1

I want to add this hack to my ubb at http://www.pokemon-trading-cards.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi asap, however I have 1 problem.

My site is using the COPPA check for registrations etc.. and I have a LOT of underage members.

I would like to set up the chat room to only allow registered members (who are currently logged in AND has posting provledges set to ON) access to the chat room.

anyone not logged in must be prevented from entering the chat room. If a 9 year old cant post messages yet he shouldnt be able to chat either. Also, if we remove posting privledges from a member, it should block access to the chat room as well.

I saw 1 person ask about this but in the 19 pages of responses here but I never saw an answer.

If these features are not already included in your hack, I would be happy to discuss a special mod just for me if the $$ is right.
