The news that shows up on the front page of ubbdev.com--how is that done. I want to implement a news/reviews section of my site. And I'm not sure if I should go with settting up another forum to handle that or use another script like newspro.

thanks

For UBB 5, it was called the "slashdot news hack". I think it's been made but not released.. just incase the thread storage routines change from beta -> release.

We are using newspro right now, pending release of final code for v6. At that time, we'll be either be using an updated slashdot, or building a template to post in an announcements forum and newspro at the same time...

Allen,

How did you get NewsPro to look like it does on your main page? I just installed it onto my own server and it doesn't look anywhere near as good as yours does. Are you sure your not using slashubb? smile

It's all html in the setup... you just work with it until you like the results.. there are still couple of things we need to adjust, but it looks pretty good, thank you.

The links to the forum threads are just hand-coded in with each post, at least until we get the template built, hopefully one of the first things we do once we start working with templates.

Well, right after Charles gets his xhtml template series running...

Allen,

Ah I see what you mean, thank you. I even managed to find the UBB mod for NewsPro. Very nice smile. Is that what you use? I was wondering how you got the features such as the exact time & date as posted in the forum.
