Well, I had figured it was the problem when I couldn't get some of the standalone/easier hacks to work on 5.47d, but had others thing to do to keep me busy to worry about it too much at the time. Now it seems untill I figure a work around or harass my hosting service I won't be able to run UBB6. I'm not sure if its because of it being an older version of pearl, configured improperly, or just not implented features, but it seems I'm missing key modules.

I'm getting the "Can't locate XXXXX.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/i386-linux/5.00404 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .)" error so far for the following.. CGI.pm, Carp.pm, Fcntl.pm, vars.pm, and strict.pm. (All I've rooted out so far..)

The site is run on a virtual server, and I do not have shell access. I'm a am complete Pearl Novice so am not sure if its an error on my part, or one of the reasons I mentioned earlier. If not an error on my part, was curious if there is any possible work arounds on my end, or do I start emailing my provider now? smile

Sorry for the ramble, late night filled with Jolt Cola, snack foods.. and no new UBB.. frown

Mac

Just because 5.004 is installed doesn't mean it was installed correctly. smile

(Pssst, Mac, it's Perl, not Pearl)

That'd be the best thing to do.

Just wanted to say thanks guys, for letting me know it wasn't just a mistake on my part. Guess the Perl libraries and modules aren't all loaded in by default (Although I wonder why they chose those to leave out..). Should be taken care of shortly.

Mac cool

Lets hope it was a server admin and not the CTO, otherwise you should switch servers where they know HOW to install Perl. tipsy
