| WHAT |
| What is the project all about? |
| In a nutshell, it's called distributed computing, and combines the processing power of over 1,000,000 pc to help find a cure for cancer. Prospective molecules are evaluated against targets, and when there is a possible match it records a "hit". Researchers will then focus on those molecules that offer the most hope. |
| What are the different protein targets? |
| We've seen several of these. For more information check out our Target page. |
| What are the Haxxor levels? |
| On UBBDev we have several levels for our All-Stars. After processing your first work unit and returned your first result, you will receive the Blue icon. When you have reached 10,000 points you will receive Bronze, at 25,000 Silver, Gold at 50,000, Platinum at 100,000, Coffee at 250,000, Code Red at 500,000 and Jolt at 750,000. Next there is Emerald at 1 million, Sapphire at 1.5 million, Ruby at 2.5 million and Diamond at 5 million. Finally, as the pièce de résistance, there is Uranium at 7.5 million and Plutonium at 10 million! Also, if you are participating on a sub-team, there may be different hurdles set by your captain. Check with your team's rules for more info. |

| What else can I do to make a difference? |
| There are lots of other ways you can help the fight against cancer. A good place to start would be The American Cancer society. Their website can be found at http://www.cancer.org. There coordinate many fund raising and community activities. |
| What are UD Monitor and UD Dialer? |
| These are a couple of handy-dandy third-party developed applications written by fellow participants. Both are quite useful for Dial-up users. UD Dialer will automatically initiate an internet session when a task is completed so you don't have to do so manually. UD Monitor keeps track of the last time your task was saved and allows you to cache multiple work units. |

| WHEN? |
| When does the UD Agent run? |
| The UD Agent runs whenever your computer is on, and only uses the spare processing power that your pc has. |
| When do my results get transmitted? |
| If your already connected to the internet, then the Agent will automatically connect, transmit and retrieve a new work unit for you. If you're on a dial-up, it will be waiting for you connect in order to communicate with the UD server. |
| When does the Agent software save my progress? |
| The current version saves after each molecule is processed, which translates to each 1% in the task progress. The last set of number of the molecule show what iteration it is on. A typical molecule has 100 iterations. Some will be quite fast, others will take a looooooong time. |
| When do I get my avatar? |
| After you transmit your first result for UBBDev and the statistics have been updated to confirm it. If you have reached a new haxxor level, feel free to remind us in the forum. |
| When are the statistics updated? |
| User Stats are updated every few hours, but Team Stats only once per day. Your local agent will tell you how many points you currently have. UD has had some issues updating stats in the past, so please be patient. |
| WHY? |
| Why do some members have more points than they should? |
| That member might be taking advantage of our Team UBBDev Referral Program. An easy way to earn lots of points by getting friends to join, or starting your own sub-team. Check the FAQ for more information. Retrictions apply. |
