Well the birthday was a lot better than last year... I got to see my snob of a baby sister (afterwards I just kinda wished that I didn't have to see her)...
See, my mom wanted to take me out for my birthday to anywhere I wanted to go, so as a normal man the only word out fo my mouth was "Steak"...
Well my little sister calls my mom at work (she lives with her dad) and stated that the only way she wanted anything to do with us is if we went to get pizza and only at one pizza place. So as a good big brother I decided it'd be fine to go out for pizza but if we did it'd be to the specialty pizza shop that I like.
So we're at the pizza place, I'm knockin back a nice cold beer, my sister and her step mom and little brother show up (yet another "i'll go only if"). Well they come over and hand me my birthday presant and I leave it on the table next to us so we could talk for a bit. My mom gives my sister and her brother theireaster presants (and of coars they open them well before I even look at mine).
So we sit and eat our pizza, after about an hour I open my presant from them... All sports crap... A Blazers Hat, Jacket, Shirt. Ok, I hate sports, and I specifically hate the blazers... They know this... It's like "umm thanks?"... I have a feeling that my sisters dad picked it out (the abusive ...) since he's a blazers fanatic...
So they decide to go home and we go over to best buy, at this point i'm not feeling too good so I want to drain my bank account on a few DVD's.. I go pickup the latest Matrix movie, Cheaper by the Dozen, In Living Color: Season 1... I decide that I want to get myself a presant as I have the cash for it and it just game out... A brand new Linksys 801.11GS... You know, the superspeed tech that they advertise... Downside is that I have no NIC for it so I have to wait 2 more weeks, but hey, I got the router
...
So we go home, we pop cheaper by the dozen in and I get my presants from my mom and my wife... I got a new chess board! It's a glass chess board with some really cure little glass pieces... If you know me you know that I adore chess, I may suck at it but I still love it
... I also got a mini tool kit and one of those long lighters for barbeque's... I love to grill in the summer, it's the onlyway they can get me to cook anything lol... I got a few more things but I don't recall them right now as I just woke up.
I also decided that since my wife has to work on the 11th (Easter and our Anneversery) that we'd exchange gifts early. Now I knew what my gift was (she bought me an awesome poster from art.com and had it framed and matted) and I've been easing her for 2 weeks with her gift... I got her one of those pots with the draining holes int he top... She's been talkin about how much she wanted one (she's a cooking fiend, she wants to be a chef someday).. She's guessed it like 9 times, each time I'm all "why would I get you something for the kitchen?"...
The pro's this year outweighed the con's, so all in all I'm quite satisfied...
