Just a note to welcome you to our newly re-designed site.

Pardon our dust and forgive the tools lying around, as not all parts of the site are fully operational yet. We will have everything up as soon as possible.

We have added 3 new forums for UBB version 6, they will include modification questions, beta modifications, and mofication requests. In addition, the v5.x series ubb remains supported, for the near future, as everyone begins to upgrade. Please keep material related to the 5.x series ubb in its regular category.

We'd also like to welcome Charles Capps as our newest "old" moderator. A former founder of the old UBB CHH site, one of the admins of ubbhackers.com, and a moderator in scriptkeepers forums, he brings a wealth of knowledge to our V6 Beta Modifications forum. Welcome Charles...

We have lots in store for you guys as we expand to remain the leader in the field of forum software support sites. Thank you for your patience.

eek

the new site looks very nice. I was surprised to see you guys switch to UBB6, since there aren't any major mods for it, but the design and colors are very professional. Thumbs up

Thanks Justice, coming from you that's a real compliment.

We had been planning to redesign for months, and the coming release of ubb v6 just coincided well. I was looking forward to having clean code to work with again... we began with a 5.45c in August, modified it with ~35 mods, file compared every version update and added ~10-15 more mods since then... we really needed clean code again. wink

We plan to assist however we can to write the new stuff for v6, and once ubb code is final, add some things that will put it above the crowd.

Thanks again, the graphics are owed to squage, layout to cal, and lots of hard work to Deb since she has put in lots of hours with me getting the files updated...

WOW... Excellent job! Nice layout. great colors (Old Navy).

Time to start testing v6 now, or at least PLAY with it.

Excellent design guys! I have never been a huge fan of the "darker UBB" style that's become so popular. Black backgrounds, etc. This scheme is great! I just unzipped v6 myself and have been sifting through it. I'm not sure if I'll be making the actual switch just yet though. I'll probably wait for the official release and perhaps a few more mods.

Again...this looks superb. I'll probably spend a lot more time here now that you've left "the dark side" wink

::applauds new scheme::

oh quick bug, fix the link to the forums at the top menu, cause if you just click on forums it tried to take you to the old board, but if you wait for the pulldown menu, then click on forum it works. just a thought.

Thanks guys, coming from 3 more of our member spotlight winners means a whole lot. You guys have phenomenal sites. You will be happy when you see how much easier it will be to modify your site with v6.

We still have a few bugs here and there... things should be running smoothly by this weekend. Thanks Exstatica, I think I have fixed it now..

I'm glad to see that we're getting so much positive feedback. We have big plans for UBBDEV this year so sit tight! I think this year is going to be the year of UBBDEV!

Where does the growth of this terrific site stop? It's great, I like the new layout a lot. I may be a starter but I browsed the old board quite a lot. Once I get my PERL knowledge up to par I intend to participate a little more in some of the discussions.

Thanks for giving us this community! smile Infopop should be most thankful because you are selling their products for them!

The design is awesome, really gives a professional look!
Although I'm not a big fan of UBB6...I hate the login feature..it bugs me.

I agree Thradar.

I agree as well. And the instant graemlin feature is useless because it inserts it at the end of the message box...so you end up having to move it. What's da point?

I think the new layout looks great too. I can't wait to see what mods pop here at ubbdev.com! And the graemlins are okay the way they are - aren't they? You click a smiley and it adds it right to where you stopped typing - right here wink - what's the difference? It doesn't add it to the "end" - just the end of what you typed. Same thing...

I usually type the smilies while I type my message, so the cursor would be at the end of the post anyway. Do you write out your post then go back and add smilies in the middle? confused

That's probably getting a bit off subject though. Bottom line, this site is the sh*t

FANtastic!! Awesome design. Clean and refreshing. Total kudos!

I'd also like to say I am beyond ecstatic that the forums no longer crash Mac IE 5, which had been true for months. Hurray!!

I also like the new colors my board was light in color but because of popular demand Its dark now but this looks great. I had to put in the dropdown menu that really cleans up the board.

But hey, it's UBB smile

I think maybe you were joking, since you really know nothing about the server we are running on. wink There is a competing product's support forum I check out occasionally that can take several minutes to load each page...5-6 minutes per page if their user number is up.

CPU load has been a good bit lower overall, tho it is difficult for me to give you facts right now, since traffic is not all that heavy on the weekends, but for the last hour cpu load has been between 0% and 5%. I can tell you that our hard drive usage went from 298mb to 133mb (I had pruned several thousand posts to get it to the 298mb level before upgrading to v6). I'll try to have more concrete results later when traffic is back up.

Very nice new layout..
Who did the design?
Does the javascript menu at the top work for all browsers?
The site is a little slow though... is that this new caching system or the load on the server?
After I logged in it took about 1-2minutes to transfer me back to the main page.... in fact in the end, I just clicked the link and it still took about 30 seconds.

Anyway, nice job on the design, it looks great.

Hey Liam, thanks for the compliment. The banners are what's dragging the site down this weekend. You get the page downloaded, but it just sits there... we are looking for another solution.

I'm really glad that we're getting all of this positive feedback. It seems like every week things get better and better for this little community of ours ... actually, it's not so little anymore. You know, our population is possibly larger than some farming community in southern Arkansas!
