OK, I know its a programming language, and thats where I stop...um, knowing.
I just had a schedule switch at school and I'm taking "fundamentals of programming" this semester, and next semester (same hour, same teacher), I'm taking "Programming in C++"
Basically, what good is it? Is it useful, or even used in any web applications?
I'm taking "Programming for the Web" next semester too, but if you were sitting near enough to me right now you'd hear me laughing quite loudly at the prospect. I've seen the teacher's own website, and I can quite honestly say that I AM BETTER THAN HIM. But thats a tangent.
So, anybody have info on C++?

What they probably meant (I got the same babble in b.a.s.i.c class) is that the flow and structures are similar. Even basic had If/Then/Else and so on. It's considered a high level language where I believe fortran and rpg, etc.. were considered lower level languages. Basic was considered a high level language since it was near english terms, more syntax then code. GEEEZ!!! I don't believe I remember that, wonder if I got it right..LOL BASIC - Beginners all purpose instruction code COBOL - common buisness oriented language RPG - report generator FORTRAN - Formula Translation And the first language that started it all.. Aida, created for C. Babbages analytical engine, Aida Lovelace created a code using punch cards to program his "computer" he couldn't figure out how.. LOL Figures, behind every great man is a Woman.. TILT!! Class dimissed Ever wonder where the term "bug in the program" came from? If anyone wonders, how long I've been staring at this infernal machine, I remember AT&T Dos 1.0..LOL And windows fit on one 5 1/4 360k disk.. ------------------ <IMG SRC=\"http://www.cyber-cards.com/g/cplogo.gif\" border=0> <font size=1>[This message has been edited by C_P (edited September 20, 2000).]</font>
