I have some rather stupid members. Since I installed the UBB 6 yesterday and made our board private, all the lurkers are signing up in droves.

The problem is that new field "publicly displayed name"

I turned off the ability to change it, but the registration screen still allows users to enter one.

We make our membership use thier Epinions.com user ids to prevent some forms of abuse, and don't want members changing their names.

I have had to deny three nitwits membership today because they filled in that field. I need to fix it so the registration screen does NOT allow members to enter anything there. Either make it invisible, or force it to be the same as their login name.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction? I don't want to change the member file, just the registration screen.

Never mind, I figured it out all by myself

I set the input value to HIDDEN and the value to ""

It worked like a charm.
