Well, basicially the problem is that whenever you pin a sticky in a forum, the Last Post by: in Ultimate.cgi will say that is was done by whoever started the sticky topic. Is there any way to circumvent stickies in the last post in a forum by listing?

Do you mean that when u pin a sticky, ultimate shows that as the last post, then is someone else posts after that had been stuck it returns to normal, or does the sticky msg remain the one in the last post field?

I think he meant just when he sticks it the last poster to that stuck thread shows up as the last poster on the Forum Listing page. And then when someone posts in another topic it returns to normal.

Hehe, actually I think it's neither.

See, I have the Stickies hack AND the Last Post BY hack installed. The last post BY hack only adds the name of the last poster to the forum listing in Ultimate.cgi, so instead of just showing the time of the last post made in that forum, it shows "by Username" below the time. That's all it does. Now my problem is that the times of the last post (not affected by the hack) are always correct - however the "by Username" will show the username of the last person the reply on the sticky, even if there are newever replies on other posts in the same forum, NOT in the sticky. In short, if you pin a sticky, it always lists the last person to reply in the sticky, no matter how old that reply in the sticky is.

Hope that's more clear. There are two "Last post by" hacks, I have both installed. But the one that's problematic (above), only adds the last post made in a FORUM to Ultimate.cgi last post time listing. The other one shows the last post in a THREAD, but that one works fine.

Heh! Same thing reported in this age-old thread. It could be that I've installed this hack before it had fixes for this in it. (I've checked the latest and the bug that I mentioned is supposed to have been fixed in it.)

I'll reinstall and double check to see if I have the latest installed and if this bug is still there...

I guess the hacks weren't compatiable just like that. Glad it's fixed. smile

Eh, I spoke too soon. It's supposed to fix it, and sometimes it works, but then when you move a post from another forum into the one with the sticky it messes the dates up, and now half of the time it shows properly who replied last, but uses the time from the sticky, and the other half of the time it shows the proper time of the last post, but wrong last replier. Sometimes it even shows everything correctly, but that's rare. Buh. frown

Looks like the problem is with the Sticky hack... The Last Post By hack in Ultimate.cgi shows properly who replied last, but the time shows as the last time someone replied in the sticky. But sometimes it works totally ok... Bloody weird.

Like I said, they weren't compatiable. The last post was just reading the topic on top and not the times.

Nah, the last post by shows the proper username that posted last, this always works now (I think anyway). But the last post times are getting screwed up. This must be solely the fault of the sticky hack, since it shows the time when the sticky was posted in most instances. So in some cases I now get the time of sticky, followed by the accurate username that posted last. In short, a mess.

Well then it was the reading of the time, that was coming from the last reply on the top topic.

Well, yes, I know this is the problem, what I'm asking is could anyone take a look and see why this is not happening always, but on seemingly random occasions? laugh
