I have created a hack to integrate UBB and NewsPro. I will post it if enough people are interested but remember this is a beta and I will not provide support via email or ICQ only through this forum! This hack works in a reverse fashion, in other words....you create the topic from NewsPro rather than create the News Article from UBB.

nice idea, but i think such a hack was already released, called slash ubb. where is the difference?

SlashUBB does not integrate NewsPro. NewsPro is one of the best News Scripts on the WEB right now and alot of people use it due to its versatility and addons. This has been a most requested hack and no one until now has attempted it. I use NewsPro on my site http://www.islandncs.com/ad check it out....

yep, i know news pro, but i wonder, ... if u have ubb on your site installed, why use newspro? slash ubb is perfect. you can easily modify for your layout.

which things are you want to make with the news pro & ubb script?

NewsPro gives you alot of functionality with the help of addons, you can create user groups, catagories, numerous templates based on the different catagories and a slew of other things. I created this mod for that reason something that SlashUBB cannot give you at least as of now. The mod I created also gives you the flexability of not creating a thread as well.

That would be incredibly usefull, but what does it do?
It would be cool if you make a newspost in newspro, that a similar topic appears in a specific forum.
So that you could enhance the option SlashUBB has.

Ok....the addon is 90% done....the only thing that's left is the comments link which hopefully goes quickly...it should be an addition to the ndisplay.pl file but I'm a little stuck with it. I would like to post what I have right now but it won't let me upload to the database....can someone give me access? I would like to give those people that are interested in this an opportunity to help beta test it. BTW it also supports ubb_codebuttons, translate and smilies!

I checked permissions in the database (the "staging forum"), and they are set to "any registered member"... let me know if you are still having problems and I will get it uploaded for you.
