Title: Format your Message
Description: This adds an option to the message submit forms that allows
people to adjust the Font face, color, and size, and the way the font is
aligned. This a simple hack to install.
Known Problems: If HTML is disabled, then the formatting will be lost
after editing the message. If you know of a way to correct this, please
email me at atom_911@hotmail.com.

Let me know if ya find a work around to the problem i am having with editing messages. It works fine as long as you have the HTML turned on. So don't install unless you do. Remember to make back up of postings.cgi.

2 things...

1. This hack also doesn't work if you have the preview hack installed. your submitted message shows up in a java pop-up screen and the font size is gigantic.

2. This isn't really his hack. I showed him part of Ron's original hack from netpoets.com and he just modified it and slapped his name on it. you go here to see where he got the idea from http://netpoets.com/cgi/pip/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

He claims the hack doesn't work with preview hack...I will wait for someone to confirm...

As for the size problem...I realize that this is aproblem..the html font size tag doesn't appear to handle pt sizing, so i will ahve to figure out another way to do so.

what do you mean "He claims"? why would i lie about a hack not working that I came to you for help with? i'm not the dishonest one here, Mr. Jack-a-Hack

He claims was meant to be said he says. I don't trust one person's opinion. Sometimes, people have an odd hack on their UBB, and other times, they mess up. even cal screws up sometimes Everything I have needs to be confirmed before i release/fix....

Yes, thanks for that. I didn't screw up - I just didn't test exhaustively. hehe.

Just a thought

The font size part has been fixed. Next thing to work around is the edited message thing, then after that, use default font settings listed first. After that, I plan to try to make the stuff added via CP.

BTW, the documentation is wrong right now...I made a mistake. I will fix it tomorrow...sorry....it works when replying, but not at topic posting...easy to fix(already did, but don't have an upload utility available)

another nice addon

anyway, I got it to work fine...unfortunately it didn't work with the Preview hack..is there anyway u can make it work with the Preview Hack?...I tried but only got the color working with the Preview Hack..others like font size font style didn't work....

Great hack Atom.

Monk, I noticed that as well, I am going to take a look and see if there is an easy way to get this working with the preview hack.

It is not my board or shogon's

It takes a lot of CGI editting to get this...to get started, try looking in the Ultimate.cgi, postings.cgi, forumdisplay.cgi, and ubb_library2.pl files. It takes a lot of hard work, and i do not recomend it to people who do not know the UBB< and ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS

It is pretty simple as long as you knnow what you are doing, took me about 15-30 minutes to get it accomplished when i did it to my board.

Anyway so the default color is NOT black?
I am using a black b/g.

Find @fontColor or something like that where I added the thing....it is in two places, and change the order of the array of colors...

I am supprised i didnt notice this earlier.

Everybody misses some things I plan n editing it so the default font chaaractoristics are set as the first varialbe of the array, but i have been too lazy
