Guys I want to host video on my site, but I have no idea where to start. What is it going to take to get this done. Do I need to check with my server host and see if they have video hosting options. Will the newer version coming out have any video gallery stuff, thanks for the help guys.......Blake

Well, there's my Video Embedding mod for UBB.T7 in the mod area; it allows you to embed videos on your forum from Google, Yahoo, YouTube, MySpace, Loowa, etc.

This is built into UBB.T7.3 however you'll need a compatibility update if using the hack for pre7.3 (which will be available within the coming weeks)

Forgive my ignorance, but what doest that mean in very remedial english terms. Does that mean that in version 7.3 there will be a video gallery where my members can upload there video to the site instead of using google, youtub or the like. I don't want them to have to upload there as some of the content (language) might get the video edited and that is not what we want......Blake

They will be able to embed videos from Google, Yahoo, MySpace, and YouTube; this means that a user can go to one of these sites, and either upload their own video or find one that's already there, and put it on your site.

You can get away with most adult language on YouTube -- they just don't want nudity on there. Nor hate-speak, etc.

I wouldn't recommend direct uploads of video files to your site unless you have unlimited financial and/or hosting (storage space and bandwidth) resources. You'd have to automate video conversion to Flash files to reduce size and all that. I just don't think it's worth it, IMHO.

'eh ClipShare is nice and all but keep in mind, with using other services you don't host the content so you don't front the bill for bandwidth or space...
