I'm running UBB.Threads 7.2, and I need to create a forum that doesn't show up on the public list of forums.

Using the permissions to only allow registered users see the forum would be too much of an administration nightmare. I would have to make sure every person who wants to have access to the forum have an account, then I would have to give each person permission for that board. I need the "guest group" to have access, but hide the forum on the master list.

Having a "hidden" forum was a feature in UBB.classic, but Rick says it is not in UBB.Threads. Does anyone know of a hack of some sort?

okay, so you basicly want full access to it, but you don't want it shown on the actual list?

Yes, that is correct. I would prefer it NOT be in the "Hop to" menu.

You only want to hide one forum?

Two different forums.

The concept is that I'll link to the hidden forum from a different page on our Web site, but the forum won't show on the list of all forums.

So actually that complete category also has to go?

You know, I think "hidden categories" would be sweet, anything in that category just doesn't show ...

Is that where you do all your posts

Coolest thing is where you could just mark forums as hidden but available. And where it hides the categories automaticly.

But anything this fancy will have to wait for 7.3 as we can really plug in extra permissions there without a lot of coding effort.
