i have a Cannon SD500 and my mom bought a Cannon SD550; I was in the store the other night and took a look and they have an SD1000 (10mp) for like $450; its insane how huge they're gettin MP/$ wise... and yes, if I had the cash I would so upgrade wink.

I want to get one of those digital photo frames, they cycle through pictures and the such, look really awesome (only about $110).

But yeh, we have tons of photos, but I usually just order through Snapfish, they have great pictures and a decent cost... I've had some good experiances with both the Walmart and Walgreens picture centers, the Kodak machines are better than the otherones they have, and some are instant (vs having to wait for them to print out)

I've looked at various photo printers, still can't justify buying one though...

I've been looking at the HP Photosmart 8250 Q3470A, it looks nice... support for sd cards (which all my cameras use), usb, and hp has some interesting (optional) bluetooth adapter should you have devices for it...

I've done a lot of iPhoto goodies (pictures, albums, calendars, baby announcements), which reminds me - I need to make up a 2007 calendar as well as wanted to make up a photo book for the past year as well.

PHOTOS STORED IN AN OLD BROWNIE CAMERA
Thought you might find these photo's very interesting, what quality from 1941.

Pearl Harbor Photos found in an old Brownie stored in a foot locker.
THESE PHOTOS ARE FROM A SAILOR WHO, WAS ON THE USS QUAPAW ATF-11O. I THINK THEY'RE SPECTACULAR!

PEARL HARBOR

December 7th, 1941

On Sunday, December 7th, 1941 the Japanese launched a surprise attack against the U.S. Forces stationed at Pearl Harbor ,Hawaii . By planning his attack on a Sunday, the Japanese commander Admiral Nagumo, hoped to catch the entire fleet in port. As luck would have it, the Aircraft Carriers and one of the Battleships were not in port. (The USS Enterprise was returning fromWake Island, where it had just delivered some aircraft. The USS Lexington was ferrying aircraft to Midway, and the USS Saratoga and USS Colorado were undergoing repairs in the United States.)

In spite of the latest intelligence reports about the missing aircraft carriers (his most important targets), Admiral Nagumo decided to continue the attack with his force of six carriers and 423 aircraft. At a range of 230 miles north of Oahu, he launched the first wave of a two-wave attack. Beginning at 0600 hours his first wave consisted of 183 fighters and torpedo bombers which struck at the fleet in Pearl Harbor and the airfields in Hickam, Kaneohe and Ewa. The second strike, launched at 0715 hours, consisted of 167 aircraft, which again struck at the same targets.

At 0753 hours the first wave consisting of 40 Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" torpedo bombers, 51 Aichi D3A1 "Val" dive bombers, 50 high altitude bombers and 43 Zeros struck airfields and Pearl Harbor Within the next hour, the second wave arrived and continued the attack.

I saw that - one guy says he has the 2 card slots writing raw images to one and jpg to the other - instant backups smile , I am really anxious to see what the 40D might have over the 30D myself, that's more my price range and I think I am wanting to upgrade my rebel xt at some point this year smile

Hey, one lens I've got my eye on is the 70-200 2.8 IS L, do you use that and does it work well for sports in a not well-lit gym? (basketball, etc.)

70-200 2.8 is a nice all round lens - tend to have that on 80% of the time smile

Yes - any lens at 2.8 is good for this.

They used to do a 1.8 lens at 200mm (I think) - that was a nice focal length - but sadly they stopped it a few years ago.

The new 1D MKIII goes up to 6400ISO!! So it should be even better in these situations.

The existing model will write to both at the same time already - but the new MKIII will write to one card and then continue automatically to the other card - which is good smile

Nothing on the 40D yet though frown

great lookin camera, but far more than what I'm willing to spend (granted the quality seems unmatched)...

If/when I replace my cam, I'll be going for the SD900 (10mp) or the SD950 (12.1MP); they also support SDHC which means a theoretical 32gb card...
