You have to put in a support ticket explaining why you need it to get it activated, since it's not activated by default. I have SSH access to one of their servers.

I use VertexHost for my sites and it has been great! I have run message boards on many different hosting networks, but VH seems to be the best. I still have my UBBT install on the server as an archive only format since I switched software and it runs great still in that mode ... and was running great on there when it was my live forum site choice. You cannot go wrong with VertexHost, no matter what forum program you are using!
